Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Sparrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Sparrow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Charlie Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparrow tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jacobs paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sparrow tries to clinch there but Jacobs circles away.
Jacobs blocks a leg kick.
Jacobs on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sparrow. Sparrow obviously looking to wear him down.
Sparrow misses with a head kick.
Sparrow throws a front kick aimed at Jacobs's knee but Jacobs avoids it well.
Jack Sparrow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sparrow throws a series of punches but Jacobs moves out of range.
Sparrow tries to land a leg kick but Jacobs saw it coming and moves away.
Sparrow misses with a two punch combination.
Sparrow tries to clinch there but Jacobs circles away.
Sparrow tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jacobs swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sparrow is looking to land body kicks.
Sparrow fails to land with a series of punches.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sparrow looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sparrow throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sparrow misses with a wild combination.

Jacobs changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sparrow looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jacobs with the ground and pound but Sparrow regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Jacobs is nestled in close to Sparrow, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jacobs decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Jacobs swats away the attempt to clinch by Sparrow.
Jacobs closes the distance and clinches up with Sparrow, looking for a takedown. Jacobs pushes Sparrow against the cage but Sparrow circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jacobs instigates a clinch.
Sparrow tries a knee to the head but Jacobs blocks it.
Sparrow goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jacobs prevents it.
Sparrow is breathing heavily.
Jacobs is working for takedown but Sparrow is calmly controlling the position for now.
Sparrow misses with a knee strike.

Jacobs has picked Sparrow up - he's going for a ride! Jacobs dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Jacobs working over Sparrow with some ground and pound. Sparrow looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Jacobs not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Jacobs is just content to waste time from the top position. Sparrow takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Sparrow keeping moving, preventing Jacobs from controlling successfully.
Jacobs working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sparrow's head.
Jacobs throws a big right hand that misses.
Jacobs throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sparrow works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Sparrow is looking to stand up but Jacobs isn't so interested in that idea.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Jacobs closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sparrow did well to prevent Jacobs getting side control.
Sparrow looks like he's trying to stand up.
Jacobs wants to take a breather but Sparrow is having none of it.
Jacobs throwing shots but Sparrow is blocking nicely.
Jacobs moves nicely into side control.
Jacobs has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Jacobs tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Sparrow pushes Jacobs away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jacobs gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Jacobs is looking to take a break and control but Sparrow is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Jacobs dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jacobs circles away from the clinch attempt

and Jacobs counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jacobs not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Jacobs prevents Sparrow from standing back up.
Jacobs wants to take a breather but Sparrow is having none of it.
Jacobs missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jacobs connects with a nice short shot to Sparrow's temple.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jacobs thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sparrow's head.

Sparrow is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jacobs scores with a couple of nice shots.
Sparrow is not content to let Jacobs control the position.
Jacobs working over Sparrow with some ground and pound. Sparrow looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Jacobs decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Jack Sparrow is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sparrow clinches but Jacobs breaks the clinch

and Jacobs counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Sparrow is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jacobs is controlling him.

Jacobs's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Jacobs loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Jacobs wants to control from the top but Sparrow keeps moving.
Jacobs working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jacobs prevents Sparrow from getting back to his feet.

Jacobs drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sparrow looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sparrow looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sparrow!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jacobs wants to get back to his feet.
Jacobs is trying to control Sparrow's posture but Sparrow avoids it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Sparrow has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Sparrow throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jacobs.
Jacobs misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sparrow throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jacobs stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A solid leg kick lands there for Sparrow.
Sparrow tries to clinch but Jacobs moves away

and Jacobs counters with a takedown into side control.
Jacobs tries to move to full mount but Sparrow actually manages to regain half guard.
Jacobs misses with a head shot. Sparrow uses the momentum to regain guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Jacobs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Jacobs drives through and clinches with Sparrow against the cage.
Sparrow with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Sparrow is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Jacobs is keeping busy.
Sparrow trying to land knees to the body.
Jacobs has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sparrow is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Sparrow putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Jacobs in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Jacobs has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Sparrow regains guard immediately.
Jacobs in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Jacobs wants to control from the top but Sparrow keeps moving.
Jacobs throws a strike but Sparrow rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Sparrow wants to get up but he can't break Jacobs's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Jacobs bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sparrow's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sparrow wants to stand but Jacobs is controlling the position.
Sparrow has momentary wrist control but Jacobs slips an elbow through the middle.

Jacobs tries to stand but Sparrow is controlling from the bottom.

Jack Sparrow has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Jacobs is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sparrow is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sparrow has escaped and now he's on top!
Sparrow has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jacobs is proving hard to escape from.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Jacobs wants to control the position but Sparrow says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Sparrow stops Jacobs from getting back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sparrow sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Jacobs defending well though.
Sparrow wants to stand but Jacobs has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Charlie Jacobs.
I've got Jacobs winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
