Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Timo Hirvikangas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Coltaine Evans! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hirvikangas scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Hirvikangas trying to mount his opponent but Evans defends it. Evans is looking to improve his position.
Evans wants to control but Hirvikangas is keeping busy and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Evans taking some punishment here, with Hirvikangas in his half guard. Evans trying to control here.
Evans throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Hirvikangas is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hirvikangas takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Hirvikangas prevents Evans from improving his position. Evans wants to control but Hirvikangas is keeping busy and won't allow it. Evans pushes Hirvikangas off looking to stand but Hirvikangas dives back in and keeps control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans punching from the bottom.
Hirvikangas seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hirvikangas connects with a nice short shot to Evans's temple. Evans wants to get back to full guard. Hirvikangas working the head and body with strikes. Hirvikangas prevents Evans from improving his position. Hirvikangas lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Evans is looking to control Hirvikangas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Evans avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Evans wants to get back to full guard but Hirvikangas has passed into side control. Evans looks gassed! Hirvikangas scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Evans?
Evans in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The referee warns Evans that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Hirvikangas content just to control the position here. Evans is looking to improve his position but Hirvikangas isn't that keen on the idea. Evans wants to hold on but Hirvikangas pushes him away. Hirvikangas postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Evans looks a forlorn figure.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hirvikangas cracks Evans with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

It looks like Coltaine Evans has been cut. Hirvikangas landing strikes, looking to finish! Evans is still in real trouble! Can Hirvikangas finish him? Hirvikangas lands a big elbow - Evans is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Evans is forced to tap out!
