Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between George Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Palmer's choice of entrance music: Bodies. The key to victory for George Silva has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, George Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, DJ Palmer! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Palmer shoots in but Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily. Silva misses with a low kick. George Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva thows a left - swing and a miss! Palmer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silva.
Silva swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Some wild striking there from Silva.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A combination from Silva does no damage. Palmer keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Silva.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva tries to work over Palmer's front leg with a kick but Palmer checks it. Silva swings away with a leg kick that misses. Silva swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Silva throws the left hand but Palmer avoids the punch easily. Palmer blocks a head kick by Silva.
Palmer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Silva. Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Silva lands a two punch combo.
It looks like DJ Palmer has been cut. George Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A slow jab from Silva misses its intended target. Silva misses with a straight left. Palmer misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Silva jabbing away but nothing is landing. A looping hook to the body misses from Silva. Palmer does a little dance to reset his feet. A combination from Silva does no damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva throws a big shot that misses. Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Palmer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard. Palmer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard. Palmer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Palmer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Silva wants to get back to his feet but Palmer is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Palmer passes Silva's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Silva pushes Palmer off looking to stand but Palmer dives back in and keeps control.
Palmer wants to free his trapped foot but Silva is holding on for dear life with his legs. Palmer looks gassed! Palmer stops Silva from getting back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Silva won't allow Palmer to pass to mount.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A combination from Silva does no damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that George Silva will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on DJ Palmer's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Silva trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Palmer jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Silva manages to avoid the submission attempt. Palmer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Silva has escaped the position, nice work there. Silva is pushing Palmer's head away, looking to escape. Palmer manages to hold on to the position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Palmer is trying to get an arm triangle but Silva is defending well. Silva is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Palmer is controlling him well. Silva gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Palmer is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Silva is surviving well by controlling Palmer's body position as best he can. Palmer looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. You get the feeling that Silva really doesn't like being in this position too much.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Palmer forces the positional change into back control. Palmer has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Silva fending off the submission attempt from Palmer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Palmer looking for the choke but no joy. Palmer is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Silva defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva holding both Palmer 's hands and preventing any damage. Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Palmer on the ground. Silva defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Palmer's arms. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva wants to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
DJ Palmer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on DJ Palmer's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

It's a sloppy attempt though and Palmer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Silva is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Palmer is controlling him. Palmer drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Palmer off! Palmer jumps back into Silva's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palmer prevents Silva from getting back to his feet. Palmer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Palmer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silva swivels and escapes. Silva connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. George Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A clash of legs there as Palmer blocks the low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Palmer moves away from the strike by Silva. Palmer slips under a jab from Silva. Silva throws a jab but it's blocked by Palmer. Palmer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Silva to the mat! Silva manages to get full guard. Silva wants to stand up but Palmer is controlling him. Palmer passes into half guard. Silva is trying to stand back up but Palmer is controlling him
That's three minutes gone in the round. Palmer uses his free foot to push down on Silva's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Silva. Palmer looking for a guillotine from mount but Silva is having none of it. Silva tries to buck Palmer off but he can't manage it. Silva defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Palmer. Palmer swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
