Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Regan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iron mke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Iron mke is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Regan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Iron mke! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! mke walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Regan checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. mke swings for the body but Regan moves out of range.
Iron mke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. mke tries to clinch there but Regan circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Regan wants to clinch up but mke keeps it at a distance. Regan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. mke is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Regan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Regan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Regan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Regan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Regan sitting in guard here, content to control.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Joe Regan just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Regan tries for a takedown but mke sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. mke cracks Regan with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Regan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Regan is stalling in the full guard. Regan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Regan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down mke for as long as he can get away with. mke wants to stand and escape but Regan is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Regan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Regan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. mke is looking to clinch but Regan is avoiding it.
Regan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before mke can pounce on him.
mke moves in looking to clinch but Regan pushes him off. mke throws a right and a left that both miss. Regan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and mke counters with a big head kick but Regan shrugs it off. mke stalks Regan and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Regan's face. Regan staggers backwards, shaken. mke looks gassed! Regan throws a head kick that misses. Regan fails with the takedown enabling mke to counter with a crisp jab. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Regan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Regan shoots for a takedown but mke saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. mke tries to clinch but Regan is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Regan shoots in and drives through. mke sprawls well. Regan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but mke swivels and escapes. mke circles away from the clinch attempt and mke counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by mke. Regan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but mke gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's going to take a lot out of him. mke breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. mke tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Regan was well out of range. Poor timing from mke. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. mke moves in looking to clinch but Regan pushes him off. mke misses with a two punch combination.
Regan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in mke's half guard.

Regan lands with a punch from half guard. Regan is nestled in close to mke, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Regan controlling the action here. Regan landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Regan is taking a breather. mke says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Regan with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Regan passes mke's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Regan sitting and controlling from the half guard. Regan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Regan not doing much here.

mke throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Regan on the side of the head. mke takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. mke throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. mke misses with a wild combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Regan is looking to clinch. Regan tries to score a power double leg takedown but mke sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Regan somewhat. Regan misses with a two punch combination.
Regan takes a swing at mke's ribcage but misses. Regan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Regan trying to control the pace.

Regan takes a swing at mke's ribcage but misses. mke tries to clinch so Regan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Regan with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Regan is pushing down on mke's leg trying to pass to half guard. mke is fighting to maintain full guard but Regan has managed to sneak the leg through. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Regan lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Regan lands strikes from half guard. Regan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Still in half guard, Regan seems content to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joe Regan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Regan working mke over with strikes. Well, if Regan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Regan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Regan controlling from mount. Iron mke has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Regan scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish mke?
mke tries to buck Regan off but he can't manage it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Regan raining down shots from the mount! Regan looking to control and managing it successfully. Joe Regan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Regan showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Regan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
