Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Rob!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Curtis Dean!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dean is looking to clinch.
Rob looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Dean doesn't manage to clinch there - Rob circles away.
Dean lands a nice shot that snaps Rob's head back.
Dean clinches up with Rob and pushes him back against the cage.
Dean manages to break the clinch.
Dean fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dean forces Rob back against the cage and clinches.
Dean pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rob avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dean looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rob really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dean tries to clinch but Rob moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rob shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dean as he avoids it easily.
Rob looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Dean thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Rob if he has to take too many more of those.
Dean stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Curtis Dean is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dean tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rob swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dean drives through and clinches with Rob against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dean wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Rob tries to break free but Dean pushes him back against the cage.
Dean wants to break the clinch but can't.
Dean manages to break the clinch.
Dean connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Rob! He's out on his feet! Dean rushes in and drops Rob with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Curtis Dean!
