PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ultimate Warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Warrior comes to the cage accompanied by Korn-Freak on a leash. Franklin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mudvayne - Not Falling kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! George Franklin is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ultimate Warrior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Franklin!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin misses with a body shot.

Warrior shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Warrior changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Franklin tries to avoid it but Warrior manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Franklin to the ground. Franklin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Franklin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Franklin wants to clinch up but Warrior keeps it at a distance.

Franklin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Warrior defends well.

Warrior got a little sloppy there for a moment and Franklin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Warrior has managed to get both his arms back between Franklin's legs - danger averted.
Franklin looks gassed!
Warrior stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Franklin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Warrior wants to control from the top but Franklin keeps moving.
Warrior tries to free his leg and advance position but Franklin is retaining full guard.
Warrior stays in close to Franklin's body and controls the position.

Warrior throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Franklin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Franklin has his foot on Warrior's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Warrior works his way back into a safe position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Warrior is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Franklin is surviving well by controlling Warrior's body position as best he can.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Franklin manages to get to full guard.
Warrior passes Franklin's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Warrior with the ground and pound but Franklin uses the opportunity to regain guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Franklin gets to his feet. Warrior looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

George Franklin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Warrior has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Franklin pushes Warrior away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Warrior gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ultimate Warrior just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Franklin lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Warrior backs up against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ultimate Warrior showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Warrior, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
