Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Noah Gregory! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, The The Hamburgler! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gregory gets a clinch. Gregory stalling in the clinch but The Hamburgler improves position. The Hamburgler goes for a takedown attempt but Gregory pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gregory is looking to clinch but The Hamburgler is avoiding it.
Gregory fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with The Hamburgler, pushing him back against the cage. The Hamburgler blocks an uppercut.
Gregory gets underhooks to prevent The Hamburgler's takedown attempt.
Gregory jumps into guard, dragging The Hamburgler to the mat.
Gregory tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gregory is looking for a triangle but The Hamburgler pushes his legs off easily.
Gregory will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The Hamburgler wanted to stand there but Gregory had control of the position. Gregory working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. The Hamburgler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. The Hamburgler manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The Hamburgler postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gregory holds on and takes a little breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Hamburgler working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gregory's head. The Hamburgler slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Gregory not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The Hamburgler tries to stand but Gregory is controlling from the bottom. Gregory is looking for a triangle but The Hamburgler pushes his legs off easily.

The Hamburgler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gregory trying to keep a closed guard but The Hamburgler is proving a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gregory clinches up with The Hamburgler and pushes him back against the cage. Gregory looking to stall.
Gregory tries to pull guard but The Hamburgler holds him up against the cage and eventually Gregory drops back down to his feet.
Gregory breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Gregory closes the distance and clinches. Gregory missing with knees to the body.
Gregory is breathing heavily. Gregory pulls The Hamburgler into guard.

The Hamburgler works over Gregory with some ground and pound from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The Hamburgler pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gregory is keeping the position for now. The Hamburgler stands and throws Gregory's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gregory can't do much from the bottom here. Gregory is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because The Hamburgler is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gregory tries to improve position but can't. The Hamburgler is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gregory has escaped the position, nice work there. Gregory wants to control but The Hamburgler postures up. Gregory tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nice uppercut lands for The Hamburgler. That snapped Gregory's head back.
The Hamburgler scores with a takedown into Gregory's guard. The Hamburgler postures up and lands a big shot to Gregory's brow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gregory lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for The Hamburgler! Gregory can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as The Hamburgler is looking to escape. The Hamburgler is working to get back to half guard.
The Hamburgler is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Gregory looking to control but The Hamburgler is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Gregory looking to control and managing it successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight stays on the outside here - Gregory looks like he's thinking about clinching though. The Hamburgler tries to clinch up and Gregory counters by clinching up. Gregory successfully pulls guard.
Gregory wants to sweep but no luck. Gregory keeping moving, preventing The Hamburgler from controlling successfully. The Hamburgler must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The Hamburgler postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gregory is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of The Hamburgler, into his guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if The Hamburgler can do anything to dispel that myth. Gregory trying to control but The Hamburgler is working from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Hamburgler wants to get back to his feet but Gregory is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Gregory tries to free his leg and advance position but The Hamburgler is retaining full guard. Gregory trying to control but The Hamburgler is working from the bottom. Gregory trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. The Hamburgler shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gregory counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Gregory is pushing down on The Hamburgler's leg trying to pass to half guard. The Hamburgler is fighting to maintain full guard but Gregory has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Hamburgler is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gregory is keen to just control but The Hamburgler is a slippery customer. The Hamburgler wants to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. The Hamburgler on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Gregory. Gregory obviously looking to wear him down.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The Hamburgler keeping moving, preventing Gregory from controlling successfully. The Hamburgler preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Gregory not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The Hamburgler can't keep his opponent in guard - Gregory advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Gregory perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Gregory trying to control the action but The Hamburgler is working from the bottom. Gregory passes to side control. Gregory controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gregory wants to lay and pray for a moment but The Hamburgler keeps working.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Noah Gregory just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Gregory tries to clinch up but The Hamburgler circles away and keeps his distance. The Hamburgler swats away the attempt to clinch by Gregory. The Hamburgler circles away from the clinch attempt.
An inside leg kick lands from Gregory. The Hamburgler avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gregory gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and The Hamburgler counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by The Hamburgler. Gregory wants to stall.
The Hamburgler tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gregory smiles and moves away.

The The Hamburgler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gregory closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The Hamburgler is not content to let Gregory control the position. The Hamburgler being controlled for a moment. The Hamburgler struggling a bit here. The Hamburgler is trying to escape the position but Gregory is controlling the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. The Hamburgler working a defensive guard here.
Gregory wants to control from the top but The Hamburgler keeps moving. Gregory advances position into side control! Gregory is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. The Hamburgler is not content to let Gregory control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Hamburgler manages to get back to half guard. Gregory seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but The Hamburgler does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Noah Gregory just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. A left and a right from The Hamburgler both land. Nice combination. The Hamburgler shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. The Hamburgler showed some decent athleticism there. Gregory is trying to control but can't.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gregory holds on and takes a little breather. The Hamburgler stopping the sweep attempt from Gregory.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gregory has his hands on The Hamburgler's head, controlling the position. Gregory's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Gregory looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gregory can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as The Hamburgler controls the pace.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Noah Gregory. I think Gregory has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
