Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henrick Sedin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anthony Lowe! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sedin fails in his attempt to clinch. Lowe circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sedin takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Lowe moves out of range of the body kick. Sedin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Sedin walks into a jab. Lowe looks to land a left hand but Sedin moved out of range nicely. Good leg kick by Sedin there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Anthony Lowe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lowe cracks Sedin with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sedin motions for Lowe to come forward. Sedin throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Lowe feints and then cracks Sedin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sedin down. Lowe chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sedin can pounce on him.
Sedin pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lowe gets a clinch. Sedin has had enough of the clinch but Lowe keeps him there for the moment. Lowe has Sedin pressed against the cage, preventing Sedin from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Sedin tries to land a knee to the head but Lowe blocks with his arms.
Lowe prevents Sedin from breaking the clinch. Lowe putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Sedin in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Lowe jumps guard but Sedin stands there with Lowe around his waist. Lowe gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lowe jumps into guard, dragging Sedin to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sedin is posturing up here but Lowe has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Sedin tries to roll out but it's too tight and Sedin has to tap! Slick submission there by Lowe!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Anthony Lowe!
