Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lee Murray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Macario Sakay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee Murray had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lee Murray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Macario Sakay!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sakay closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sakay stands up and beckons Murray to his feet.

Murray closes the distance but Sakay moves to the side

and Sakay counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Sakay wants to stand but Murray has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Sakay really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murray. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Murray is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Murray wants to sweep here but Sakay controlling him for the moment.

Murray is looking for a triangle but Sakay pushes his legs off easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sakay working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Sakay drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Murray dives on top into guard.
Murray trying to control but Sakay is working from the bottom.

Sakay is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Murray defends well.
Murray sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sakay's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Murray slows the pace down in half guard.
Murray thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Murray is thwarting Sakay's attempts to control the position.

Murray is working for a submission of some sort.
Murray content to control rather than advance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Murray is trying to control. Sakay wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Murray is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Sakay is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Murray throwing strikes here but Sakay is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Murray cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Murray thowing shots but they're missing.
Sakay in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Sakay holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Murray tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Murray can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sakay is looking to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's time! Murray's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Sakay changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Murray looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Murray sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Sakay is working for a kimura but Murray is defending it quite comfortably.
Murray is looking to control Sakay's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Murray avoid being mounted?
Murray pushes Sakay off looking to stand but Sakay dives back in and keeps control.

Murray looks like he's trying to stand up.
Murray slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Sakay postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Murray is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sakay, into his guard.

Murray is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Lee Murray just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Sakay tries to improve his position but instead Murray has taken his back!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Murray looking for the choke but no joy.
Murray is looking to control Sakay but Sakay is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Sakay wants to control his opponent's hands but Murray gets his hands free.
You can see the frustration on Sakay's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee Murray dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Sakay throws a series of strikes that have Murray backpedaling.


It looks like Lee Murray has been cut.

and Sakay counters with a nice double leg into side control. Murray won't be happy with that.

Sakay is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Murray reverses the position - he's now on top in Sakay's guard.
Sakay keeping moving, preventing Murray from controlling successfully.
Sakay can't keep his opponent in guard - Murray advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Murray is looking to take a break and control but Sakay is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sakay looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Murray pushes past his half guard into mount!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Murray trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Sakay defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Murray.

Murray sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Sakay tries to reverse the position but Murray maintains control.

Murray has control of Sakay's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Sakay regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Sakay is looking to improve his position but Murray isn't that keen on the idea.

Sakay is squirming around, avoiding Murray's attempts to control the action.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Sakay bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Murray bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sakay's guard.

Sakay has his foot on Murray's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Murray works his way back into a safe position though.

I would just about give that final round to Macario Sakay.
I think Sakay has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
