Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between JC Schwager (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Schillinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, JC Schwager! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kurt Schillinger! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schwager throws the left hand but Schillinger avoids the punch easily. Schillinger blocks a low kick nicely. Schwager throws a right hand that Schillinger ducks under and follows up with a left that Schillinger also avoids with ease. Schillinger tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schwager paws at him with a jab and circles away. Schwager tries to clinch but fails miserably and Schillinger moves into the clinch. Schillinger stops a takedown attempt from Schwager.
Schillinger prevents Schwager from breaking the clinch. Schillinger misses with a hook from the clinch. Schwager gets underhooks to prevent Schillinger's takedown attempt.
Schillinger softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Still in the clinch, Schillinger scores with a nice short uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schillinger pushes Schwager back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Schwager working hard to break the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Schwager's face as he tries to break the clinch. Schillinger scores with a shoulder strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schwager wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Schillinger. Schwager is pressed up against the cage. Schillinger has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Schwager down to the mat. Schwager avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Schillinger looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Schwager! Schwager tries to hold on but Schillinger pushes him away. Schwager is looking to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schillinger swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Schwager is now in Schillinger's guard. A big mistake from Schillinger there, giving up the dominant position! Schillinger wants to get back to his feet but Schwager is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Schwager thows a big elbow that misses. Schwager trying to control but Schillinger is working from the bottom. Schwager drops back looking for a leg! Schillinger is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Schillinger manages to kick Schwager off! Schwager jumps back into Schillinger's guard. Schwager is breathing heavily. Schillinger is looking to stand up but Schwager isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schwager in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Schillinger wants to get back to his feet but Schwager is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Schwager wants to control from the top but Schillinger keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Schwager tries for a takedown but Schillinger circles away easily and Schillinger counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Schillinger. Schillinger lands a nice uppercut. Schwager misses with a punch to the body.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for JC Schwager. That's going to take a lot out of him. Schillinger lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Schwager backwards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Schillinger softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Schwager tries for a takedown. No joy.
Schillinger lands a left hand that snaps the head of Schwager backwards. Schillinger tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Schwager smiles and moves away.
Schillinger bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. JC Schwager seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schwager circles away from the clinch attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Schillinger closes the distance and pushes Schwager back into the cage. Schillinger lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Schwager doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Kurt Schillinger dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Schwager wants to clinch and Schillinger decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Schwager's guard. Schwager wants to sweep here but Schillinger controlling him for the moment. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Schwager is on top in guard.
Schillinger has his hands on Schwager's head, controlling the position. Schillinger is trying to control the position but Schwager postures up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schwager won't allow Schillinger to get back to his feet. Schillinger has Schwager pulled in close to control his posture. Schwager wants to stand but Schillinger has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Schillinger wants to stand but Schwager is controlling the position. Schwager with a nice head shot there.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Schwager shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Schillinger counters with a takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schillinger is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Schwager knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Schwager taking punishment in the form of punches.
Schwager can't do much from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schwager tries to improve position but can't. Schillinger cracks Schwager with an elbow. That is naaassty. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schwager tries to buck Schillinger off but Schillinger is having none of it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Schwager blocks a low kick nicely. Schwager looks to land a combination but Schillinger avoids it well. Schwager shoots in for a takedown but Schillinger shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Schwager misses with a jab, cross combination.

Schillinger is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Schwager is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Schwager missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Schillinger tries to kick Schwager off but Schwager keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Schillinger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schwager. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Schillinger has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Schwager is working away from the top position though. Schillinger tries to get to full guard but Schwager has control of the leg. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Schwager misses with a head kick.

Schwager ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Schillinger moves away. Schwager shoots and misses and Schillinger counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Schwager lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Schillinger must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Schwager manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Schillinger manages to get himself to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Kurt Schillinger comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Schillinger has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
