Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mario Bros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Tosh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tosh has chosen Stepping Razor as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Bros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Tosh!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bros swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bros throws a series of punches but Tosh avoids them all with ease.
Tosh uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bros.
Bros misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tosh keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tosh fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Tosh gets the takedown into side control.
Bros struggling a bit here.
Tosh working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Tosh takes a little break here. Bros wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Bros can't do much from the bottom here.
Tosh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bros keeps working.

Tosh wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bros, who protects the arm well.
Bros tries to improve position but can't.
You can see the frustration on Bros's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A control attempt from Bros but he's now mounted!
Tosh scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Bros?
Bros knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tosh on the ground.

Bros is desperately trying to improve his position but Tosh has a good base and remains in mount.

Tosh wants to control the pace but Bros is squirming around nicely.
Tosh connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Tosh has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Tosh has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Tosh is trying to stick to Bros's back but Bros is turning into Tosh. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Tosh's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Bros.
Bros seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bros throws a big right hand that misses.
Tosh controlling Bros's posture.
Bros wants to control from the top but Tosh keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bros swinging wildly here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Tosh dominated that round.
That's time! Bros's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bros tries to bum rush Tosh with a series of wild strikes but Tosh uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bros lands with a nice combination. Tosh backs away looking to recover.
Tosh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bros paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mario Bros is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tosh pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Bros misses with a double jab.
Bros avoids the body shot from Tosh.
Tosh fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bros manages to avoid it.

Tosh closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bros did well to prevent Tosh getting side control.
Tosh is trying to control. Bros wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Bros wants to get back to full guard but Tosh has passed into side control.
Bros wants to hold on but Tosh pushes him away.

Tosh scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Tosh fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Bros is in all sorts of trouble here.

Tosh wants to finish this one by submission but Bros is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Tosh.

Tosh looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Tosh is breathing heavily.
Tosh throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bros because Tosh loaded up on that one.
Bros is trying to reverse the position but instead Tosh has taken his back - oops!
Tosh doesn't have the hooks in and Bros manages to turn into his guard.

Bros wants to control from the top but Tosh keeps moving.
Bros tries to stand but Tosh is controlling from the bottom.
Tosh is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tosh is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bros wants to get back to full guard.
Bros is staying active underneath Tosh, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Tosh is controlling the pace.
Tosh is keen to just control but Bros is a slippery customer.

Tosh is working for a submission of some sort.
Bros won't allow Tosh to pass to mount.
Bros avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Tosh.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Tosh takes a swing at Bros's ribcage but misses.

Peter Tosh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oooh a lovely combination from Bros sends Tosh down but not out. Bros dives into side control looking to finish.

It looks like Peter Tosh has been cut.
Bros wants to stand but Tosh has his arm trapped.
Tosh is still in real trouble! Can Bros finish him?
A lull in the action here.
Tosh regains half guard there - taking advantage of Bros's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Peter Tosh's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Tosh tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bros was well out of range. Poor timing from Tosh.
Tosh seems to have recovered his senses.
Tosh keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tosh shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bros sprawls well. Bros wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tosh gets slowly back to his feet.

Bros throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Horrible takedown by Tosh or perhaps it was just good defense by Bros which made him look bad.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bros lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Tosh sprawling to the canvas. Bros follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Tosh hang on?

Tosh takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Tosh is not content to let Bros control the position.
Tosh seems to have recovered his senses.
Bros not doing much here.
Bros tries to stand but can't do so whilst Tosh controls his leg.
Tosh moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tosh is on top in guard.
Tosh pushing down on Bros's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Tosh seems to be looking for submissions.
Tosh wants to free his trapped foot but Bros is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Bros tries to kick Tosh off but Tosh keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Tosh is trying to control the action in half guard but Bros is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Tosh moves into full mount! Bros won't be happy about that!

Tosh avoids the attempt from Bros to control.
Peter Tosh has got the better of the ground game so far.
Tosh wants to control the pace but Bros is squirming around nicely.

Tosh jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bros manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bros wants to get back to his feet.

Tosh thows a huge punch but Bros dodges it nicely.

Tosh is working for a kimura but Bros is defending it quite comfortably.
Tosh tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bros knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mario Bros.
I think Bros has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
