The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christopher fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Christopher throws a head kick that misses.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Christopher sprawls well. Christopher wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cruz gets slowly back to his feet.
Christopher throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cruz wants to clinch up but Christopher keeps it at a distance.

Cruz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Christopher was covering up waiting for the punch and Cruz finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Cruz decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Cruz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Cruz has hold of Christopher's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Christopher manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Christopher is bucking up trying to escape but Cruz cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
