Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Richard Spivey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spivey ducks straight into an uppercut from Lee and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Spivey manages to regain guard straight away.
Spivey is rocked!
It looks like Richard Spivey has been cut. Spivey on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Spivey tries to get out of the position. Spivey manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lee manages to get himself to full guard.
Oh Spivey is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Spivey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard. Spivey seems to have got his legs back now. Spivey has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Spivey controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Lee keeping moving, preventing Spivey from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spivey has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lee is proving hard to escape from. Lee keeping full guard, as Spivey tries to pass. Spivey works over Lee with some ground and pound from guard. Spivey wants to get up but he can't break Lee's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Lee throws a head kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Spivey dodges the punch combination from Lee.
Lee is trying hard to land a takedown here. Spivey sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Lee looks gassed! Lee throws a leg kick but Spivey checks it. Spivey looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spivey drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lee dives on top into guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Spivey keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully. Lee throwing strikes from guard but Spivey blocks nicely. Lee throws a big right hand that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee wants to control from the top but Spivey keeps moving. Spivey not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lee chips away with some ground and pound. Lee forces his way into half guard. Spivey wants to get back to full guard. Spivey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lee on the ground. Lee is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Lee thows a huge punch but Spivey dodges it nicely.
Lee wants to take a breather but Spivey is having none of it. Spivey is looking to improve his position.
Spivey is trying to maintain the position but Lee is very close to passing his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Spivey on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Nice strikes from Lee there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spivey actively working from the bottom here. Lee working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Lee is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Spivey is just riding it out for now. Lee eventually gives up the hold. Spivey trying to control here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bruce Lee dominated that round. The cut man is working on Richard Spivey's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Spivey steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Lee. That one must have hurt. Lee fails to land with a series of punches.
An inside leg kick from Lee misses. Spivey shoots in and bounces Lee off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Lee trying to control the position.
Lee is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spivey moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Lee stands and steps away. Spivey gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Spivey shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lee napping and manages to drive through into side control! Spivey tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Lee is trying to control Spivey's posture but Spivey avoids it. Lee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spivey in side control, just content to control the action for now. Lee keeping his opponent close. Lee can't do much from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lee is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Spivey is staying active. Lee sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Lee is doing well to control the position and prevent Spivey from advancing to side control. Lee wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Lee works his way to full guard. Good work. Spivey is looking to stand up but Lee won't let him. Spivey looking to sit in guard and control but Lee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Spivey is adopting a defensive guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lee makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Richard Spivey will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Richard Spivey's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Spivey shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense. Spivey throws a series of punches but Lee moves out of range. Spivey closes the distance and clinches. Spivey fails to pull the fight into his guard.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. The referee calls for Lee to work.
Lee ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lee no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Spivey is looking to advance position but Lee has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Lee lands a big elbow. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Lee wants to control the pace but Spivey is squirming around nicely. Lee is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Lee!
