Strauss has chosen Immigrant song-Led Zeppelin as his entrance music. Ronnie Carlton has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Strauss changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Carlton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Carlton manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Strauss is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Strauss drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Carlton dives on top into guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Strauss is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Carlton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Strauss is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Strauss has escaped and now he's on top!

Strauss sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Carlton's guard.

Carlton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Strauss's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Strauss's back!
Strauss turns into Carlton and is now in his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Strauss moves into full guard.

Strauss has his feet on Carlton's thighs here. He's pushed Carlton off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Carlton screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Logan Strauss!
