Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiery Hogroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hogroe's choice of entrance music: Put On. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Head! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thiery Hogroe! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Head fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hogroe, pushing him back against the cage. Head jumps into guard, dragging Hogroe to the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Head being controlled here, momentarily. Head looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hogroe must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Head trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Hogroe trying to control the position from guard on top but Head is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Head throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Head will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Head has an active guard here but Hogroe has managed to pass into half guard.
Hogroe is stalling here. Head is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hogroe seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Head has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Hogroe manages to get back to half guard. Head decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Hogroe throws a sloppy head kick and Head moves out of range easily. Hogroe throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Head closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hogroe did well to prevent Head getting side control. Head missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Head seems to be working for a kimura but Hogroe defends the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Head stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Hogroe is looking to land body kicks. Hogroe looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Head feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Head throws a big right hand that misses. Hogroe preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hogroe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Head content to stall in guard here. Head loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Head gets to his feet. Hogroe looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Head bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Head wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hogroe keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hogroe regains half guard there - taking advantage of Head's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Head missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Head thows a huge punch but Hogroe dodges it nicely.
Head throwing shots but Hogroe is blocking nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
William Head dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Head drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Head accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Head postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hogroe keeping moving, preventing Head from controlling successfully. Head has gone for a leg lock! Hogroe slips out almost immediately though and dives into Head's guard. Head is trying to control the position but Hogroe postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Head looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hogroe wants to stand but Head is controlling his posture from full guard. Head lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Hogroe prevents Head from getting back to his feet. Head pulls Hogroe in close to prevent any damage. Head has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hogroe off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Head displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like Thiery Hogroe has been cut. Hogroe misses with a kick to the body.

Head fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hogroe leaves Head with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hogroe looks to land a combination but Head avoids it well. Hogroe shoots in but Head avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hogroe throws a series of punches but Head moves out of range. Head tries to clinch up. Head moves into the clinch. Head tries for a takedown but Hogroe manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Head. That's going to take a lot out of him. Head pulls guard successfully.
Hogroe passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Head looking for submissions off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Head wants to get back to full guard. Hogroe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Head keeps working. Head pushes Hogroe off looking to stand but Hogroe dives back in and keeps control.
Head flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Head wants to improve his position but Hogroe is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Horrible takedown by Head or perhaps it was just good defense by Hogroe which made him look bad. Hogroe lunges at Head with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Head's hand. Head tries for a takedown but Hogroe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Head turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. No luck with that takedown attempt from Head. William Head is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hogroe throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Head throws a sloppy head kick and Hogroe moves out of range easily. Hogroe falls off balance throwing a combination
and Head counters by clinching up. Head tries to stall but Hogroe uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Hogroe is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Head breaks from the clinch.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Head. Hogroe gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hogroe tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hogroe trying to keep a closed guard but Head is proving a slippery customer.
Head throws and elbow that misses. Hogroe uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Head's guard. Nice move by Hogroe! Hogroe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Head is keeping the position for now. Hogroe takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Head is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hogroe defends well. Head is looking for a triangle but Hogroe pushes his legs off easily.
Head has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Head wants to stand up but Hogroe is controlling him. Head is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Head escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hogroe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. William Head overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hogroe wants to get up but he can't break Head's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

and Head holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Head has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Hogroe is trying to keep an underhook but Head manages to get the takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Head in particular looking to stall. Thiery Hogroe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Head thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Head trying to control the action but Hogroe is working from the bottom. Head trying to pass the guard but Hogroe defending well. He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
And that's the end of the fight! William Head showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Head, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
