Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fejha Kurko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and deacon james (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fejha Kurko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, deacon james!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
james closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kurko circles away.
Kurko shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts james as he jumps to the side.
james shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kurko counters with a nice low kick that buckles james's knee momentarily.

and james counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kurko!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
james prevents Kurko from getting the reversal.
james blocks Kurko's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

james is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Kurko has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Kurko!
james is trying to keep Kurko in close.

Kurko has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

james looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Kurko puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
james tries to lock up and control but Kurko gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kurko takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
james can't escape the position.
james wants to control but Kurko is having none of it.
james is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Kurko is staying active.

james is trying to escape the mount.
james wants to control but Kurko is having none of it.
james regains half guard.
Kurko not landing any meaningful shots this time.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
james works his way to full guard. Good work.
james wants to control the position but Kurko says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
james has hold of Kurko's hands but Kurko slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


james throws a sloppy head kick and Kurko moves out of range easily.

james controls Kurko momentarily but Kurko frees himself.
james can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kurko controls the pace.
james is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kurko is controlling him.

Kurko slips nicely into half guard.
james has his hands clasped together around Kurko's back. He's all about the action.

james is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kurko pulls his head out easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
james gets full guard.
james trying to control the position.
james has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kurko has passed into side control.
james is trying to get back to half guard.
james wants to control but Kurko postures up.

james pushes Kurko away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kurko gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
james struggling a bit here.

Despite being in the dominant position, deacon james just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
james misses with a takedown attempt

and Kurko counters with a nice double leg into side control. james won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
james is breathing heavily.
james wants to control but Kurko postures up.
james tries to buck Kurko off but Kurko is having none of it.
Kurko takes a little break here. james wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
james manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
james tries to roll over but Kurko keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fejha Kurko dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Kurko gets a takedown into half guard.
james is positioning himself well to prevent Kurko advancing to mount.
james is looking to get back to full guard here but Kurko has managed to pass to side control instead.

james tries to hold on but Kurko pushes him away.
james can't escape the position.
Kurko tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
james regains half guard.
james has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kurko is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
james tries to get to full guard but Kurko has control of the leg.
james trying to get back to full guard but Kurko takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
james is trying desperately to improve position.
james is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Kurko looking to finish james with some ground and pound. This is bad for james!
james wants to control but Kurko is having none of it.
Kurko landing strikes from the mount and james is in trouble!

Kurko's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Kurko lands with some strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
james sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
james makes his way to full guard. A much better position for james.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fejha Kurko showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kurko has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
