Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Divine Buster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Egberto Gismonti!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buster shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Buster showed some decent athleticism there.
Gismonti is trying to stand back up but Buster is controlling him
Buster with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Buster moves nicely into side control.
Buster throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Buster trying to control the position but Gismonti is working away.
Buster prevents Gismonti from escaping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Buster is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Gismonti's shoulder. That is not cool.
Buster grinds an elbow into Gismonti's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Buster happy to just control the position for now.
Buster decides to stand up, so the ref orders Gismonti to his feet.
Gismonti moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Buster goes down! Can Gismonti finish him!?
It looks like Divine Buster has been cut.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gismonti stopping the sweep attempt from Buster.
Buster is breathing heavily.
Gismonti wants to stand but Buster has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Gismonti stops Buster from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gismonti has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Buster is proving hard to escape from.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Buster looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gismonti lands with a nice combination. Buster backs away looking to recover.
Gismonti moves in looking to clinch but Buster pushes him off.
Gismonti tries to clinch up but Buster circles away and keeps his distance.
Buster shoots in but no luck this time.
Gismonti throws a right and a left that both miss.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gismonti looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Buster fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Egberto Gismonti dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Divine Buster's cut.
That's time! Buster's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gismonti wants to clinch up but Buster keeps it at a distance.
Gismonti tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Buster paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gismonti swats away the attempt to clinch by Buster.
Gismonti lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Gismonti.
Buster moves out of range of the strikes.
Buster shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gismonti defends it nicely.
Gismonti misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
An inside leg kick lands from Gismonti.
Egberto Gismonti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gismonti grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Buster takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Gismonti cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
