Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between jason the warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sobral is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Cubanito by Pideme. The key to victory for jason the warrior has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcos Sobral! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! the warrior lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Sobral closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming the warrior to the mat! the warrior manages to get full guard. Sobral throwing strikes from guard but the warrior blocks nicely. the warrior is trying to control the position but Sobral postures up. Sobral wants to pass the guard but the warrior is keeping the position. Sobral won't allow the warrior to sweep him here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sobral scoring with punches to the head and body. the warrior is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Sobral throwing strikes but missing. Sobral really doesn't want to stay on the ground with the warrior. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sobral avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Sobral sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed the warrior's guard. the warrior wants to improve his position but Sobral is controlling well.

the warrior is rocked! the warrior wants to get back to full guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sobral connects with a nice short shot to the warrior's temple. Oh the warrior is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! the warrior is breathing heavily. Sobral lands with a punch from half guard. the warrior wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sobral is nestled in close to the warrior, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sobral landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Sobral trying to control the pace. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. the warrior is looking to control Sobral's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can the warrior avoid being mounted? The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sobral lands a nice short elbow. The fighters are battling for position here. the warrior manages to regain full guard. Nice work. the warrior seems to have got his legs back now. the warrior is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sobral won't allow the warrior to get back to his feet. Sobral thows a big elbow that misses. the warrior bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sobral's guard. the warrior drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sobral dives on top into guard. the warrior manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sobral is desperately trying to improve his position but the warrior has a good base and remains in mount. the warrior can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sobral is looking to escape. Sobral can't escape the position.

the warrior content just to control the position here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sobral can do anything to dispel that myth. the warrior is trying to take his opponent's back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. the warrior working for a submission but Sobral is keeping him at bay. the warrior prevents Sobral from getting the reversal. Sobral is in a horrible position here. the warrior smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sobral tries to control the warrior's body but the warrior pushes him off. Sobral squirms to his side and now the warrior has his back! the warrior lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by the warrior.
Sobral turns into the warrior and is now in his guard.

Sobral tries for a takedown but the warrior sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. the warrior with a poor takedown and Sobral counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sobral. the warrior is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. the warrior wants to stand and escape but Sobral is having none of it. the warrior is trying to control the position but Sobral postures up. Sobral works over the warrior with some ground and pound from guard. Sobral works a leg free and moves into half guard. the warrior looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. the warrior is in trouble now - Sobral has advanced to mount! A nice elbow there by Sobral. Sobral punishing his opponent with strikes. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sobral lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

the warrior tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. the warrior moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. the warrior is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Sobral has his hands clasped together but the warrior extends an breaks Sobral's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by the warrior.
