Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Buhawi Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack comes to the cage accompanied by enter sandman. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Johnson! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson tries to clinch there but Jack circles away.
Johnson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Johnson forces Jack back against the cage and clinches. Jack jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Jack around his waist. Jack gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jack is trying to drag Johnson to the mat but Johnson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Jack can't break the clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Johnson obliges. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Johnson tries to clinch but Jack moves out of range. Johnson is looking to clinch. Jack fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Buhawi Jack. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jack bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Johnson won't allow Jack to pass to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jack is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ground and pound from Jack. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jack wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jack connects with a nice short shot to Johnson's temple. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth. Jack uses his free foot to push down on Johnson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Johnson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet! Johnson is looking to clinch but Jack is avoiding it.

Jack checks a low kick from Johnson. Jack misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Johnson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jack. The fighters circling - Johnson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Jack takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

He's pushed Jack's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jack cracks Johnson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Johnson wants to clinch. Johnson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jack counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Jack misses with a series of wild punches.
Jack is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Jack is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Johnson's half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jack is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That was a close round but I would say that Buhawi Jack will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Johnson stuffs the takedown. Buhawi Jack is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Johnson slaps away a takedown attempt from Jack, before circling back to the center of the mat. Johnson tries to clinch up
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. and Jack counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jack pushing down on Johnson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Jack is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Johnson sees it coming and defends easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson is trying to stand up here but Jack is controlling him well. Jack throwing shots but Johnson is blocking nicely. Jack is working for a kimura but Johnson is defending it quite comfortably.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jack tries to pass to full mount but Johnson defends it.

Jack has control of Johnson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Johnson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Buhawi Jack overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jack lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Jack seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Jack prevents Johnson from standing back up.
