Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lou Capalatti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lou Capalatti has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lou Capalatti!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Capalatti.

Silva looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Capalatti is pulling down on Silva's head. It's preventing any offense from Silva, at least for the moment.
Silva won't allow Capalatti to sweep him here.
Silva wants to control from the top but Capalatti keeps moving.
Capalatti is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Silva slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Capalatti is trying to get back to half guard.
Capalatti is not content to let Silva control the position.
Silva throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Silva gets the takedown into side control.
Capalatti is trying to control Silva's posture but Silva avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Capalatti, who protects the arm well.
Silva tries to move into full mount but can't pass Capalatti's legs.

Capalatti wants to control but Silva postures up.
Capalatti is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Capalatti struggling a bit here.
Silva trying to control the position but Capalatti is working away.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Capalatti looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Silva!
Capalatti looks gassed!
Silva wants to hold on but Capalatti pushes him away.
Silva manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Capalatti is keen to just control but Silva is a slippery customer.

Silva is trying to maintain the position but Capalatti is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Silva tries to get to full guard but Capalatti has control of the leg.
Silva is staying active underneath Capalatti, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Silva slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Capalatti trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Capalatti might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Silva kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Silva is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Capalatti is controlling him.

Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Capalatti trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Capalatti controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Silva is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Capalatti tries to move into range but Silva moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Capalatti has his hands on Silva's head, controlling the position.
Silva passes into half guard.
Silva is looking to take a break and control but Capalatti is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paulo Silva dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Capalatti shoots and misses
and Silva connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Silva throws a nice outside leg kick.
Capalatti moves out of range of the strikes.
Capalatti takes one to the side of the head.
Silva connects with a looping right hand.

Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silva is working hard here to advance position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Capalatti misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silva scores with a jab to the head.
Silva connects with the punch.

Capalatti wants to hold on but Silva pushes him away.
Capalatti is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Capalatti wants to control but Silva is having none of it.

Capalatti reaches up to try and control the position but Silva seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Capalatti rolls and tries to escape and now Silva has his back!

Capalatti tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Silva fails to move to back control.
Capalatti is trying desperately to improve position.
Capalatti avoids a strike by Silva and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Silva's guard! Fantastic escape!

Capalatti not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Silva keeping moving, preventing Capalatti from controlling successfully.

Capalatti tries to move into range but Silva moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Capalatti can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Capalatti seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Paulo Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Capalatti is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Silva has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Capalatti is looking to defend but Silva has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Capalatti! Silva pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Capalatti taps out and this one is all over!
