These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith takes the fight into the clinch.

Smith manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Smith wants to stand up but Martinez is controlling him.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Martinez turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Smith off and cradles Martinez's limp body as Smith celebrates with his corner.
