Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jose Hernandez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Migga Gonzales! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hernandez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Gonzales closes the distance and clinches. Gonzales connects with a knee to the head.
It looks like Jose Hernandez has been cut. Gonzales manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Gonzales ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gonzales no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Hernandez drops back looking for a leg! Gonzales is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gonzales manages to kick Hernandez off! Hernandez jumps back into Gonzales's guard. Gonzales keeping moving, preventing Hernandez from controlling successfully. Gonzales looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hernandez is one step ahead there. That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Gonzales keeping full guard, as Hernandez tries to pass.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hernandez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gonzales tries to avoid it but Hernandez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gonzales to the ground. Gonzales escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hernandez shoots for a double leg takedown but Gonzales sprawls well. He's pushed Hernandez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Hernandez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gonzales slaps away a takedown attempt from Hernandez, before circling back to the center of the mat. Hernandez tries to keep at a distance but Gonzales has taken the fight into the clinch. The referee is keeping an eye on Gonzales - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gonzales with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Gonzales pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Gonzales displaying some good clinch control by pressing Hernandez up against the cage. Gonzales has Hernandez pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Gonzales pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hernandez tumbling to the mat - Gonzales dives into Hernandez's guard. Hernandez looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hernandez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gonzales avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hernandez looking for a sweep. Not yet Hernandez, not yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Migga Gonzales dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jose Hernandez's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Gonzales tries to clinch up but Hernandez circles away and keeps his distance. Hernandez tries to keep at a distance but Gonzales has taken the fight into the clinch. Hernandez tries to pull guard but Gonzales won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Gonzales wants to get back to his feet. Hernandez passes to full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hernandez looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Gonzales really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hernandez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gonzales defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hernandez. Gonzales trying desperately to get to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hernandez wants to finish this one by submission but Gonzales is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hernandez. Hernandez takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Hernandez somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Hernandez is persistently looking for the submission but Gonzales is defending it well.

Gonzales rushes Hernandez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Hernandez blocks an uppercut.
Hernandez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Gonzales just stands there and leans against the cage. Hernandez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gonzales smiles and moves away.
Jose Hernandez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gonzales moves into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gonzales prevents a takedown attempt there.

Hernandez tries to keep at a distance but Gonzales has taken the fight into the clinch. Gonzales has clasped his hands together around Hernandez's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Hernandez is looking for a sweep. Hernandez can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gonzales lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hernandez down.
Hernandez manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Gonzales wants to stand up but Hernandez is controlling the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hernandez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gonzales! Hernandez throwing strikes here but Gonzales is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Gonzales tries to reverse the position but Hernandez maintains control. Gonzales stops Hernandez from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Gonzales trying desperately to get to his feet.
Hernandez has hold of Gonzales's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Gonzales manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Hernandez jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gonzales is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gonzales and Hernandez has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

And that's the end of the fight! Migga Gonzales comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gonzales has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
