Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Appleby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Alkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Appleby is looking to clinch.
Alkofer looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Appleby is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Appleby tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Appleby darts in and clinches Alkofer up against the cage.
Appleby tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Alkofer tries to stall but Appleby uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Alkofer is pushing Appleby up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Appleby blocks a body shot from Alkofer.
Alkofer blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alkofer throws a head punch that misses.
Appleby goes for a takedown attempt but Alkofer pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Appleby takes the fight into the clinch.

Appleby tries to score a body lock takedown but Alkofer shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Appleby is looking to control Alkofer's arms but Alkofer gets an underhook and turns him. Now Appleby has his back to the cage.
Alkofer misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Appleby drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Appleby throws a knee to the head but misses.
Appleby tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Appleby tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Alkofer just stands there and leans against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Appleby tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Alkofer smiles and moves away.
Appleby closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Alkofer did well to prevent Appleby getting side control.
Alkofer gets back to full guard.

Appleby landing with the ground and pound.
Alkofer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Appleby controls the pace.
Appleby gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Appleby darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Appleby is looking to advance position but Alkofer won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alkofer is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Appleby pulls his head out easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Appleby has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Alkofer defend it? Appleby steps over the head and cranks it - Alkofer is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Appleby!
