Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ethan Clayton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clayton has chosen Elevation as his entrance music. Ethan Clayton is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ethan Clayton!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Kavanagh and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Clayton as he jumps to the side.
Jackson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jackson throws a head kick that misses.
Jackson throws a nice looking combination but Clayton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jackson shoots in but Clayton avoids the takedown attempt easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Clayton avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jackson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Clayton sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jackson somewhat.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Jackson. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

and Clayton counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ray Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Clayton looks to land a combination but Jackson avoids it well.

Jackson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Clayton.
Horrible takedown by Jackson or perhaps it was just good defense by Clayton which made him look bad.

Clayton is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Jackson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Clayton bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jackson's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jackson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Clayton is fending him off so far but Jackson persists. Nope, Clayton circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clayton might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Clayton lands with a straight right. Jackson didn't see that one coming.
Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Clayton pinned against the cage. Clayton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Clayton moves out of range as Jackson strikes.

Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Clayton pinned against the cage. Clayton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Clayton sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Clayton gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jackson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Clayton prevents it.
Clayton tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jackson just stands there and leans against the cage.

Clayton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Clayton is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Clayton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jackson wants to stand and escape but instead Clayton has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Clayton counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Clayton wants to clinch.
Jackson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Clayton closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Clayton misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Clayton wants to clinch.
Jackson throws out a loose jab but Clayton uses good head movement to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ethan Clayton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Clayton counters with a three punch combo that has Jackson backing up. Jackson nods at Clayton to acknowledge the strikes.

Clayton has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jackson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Clayton has him pressed against the cage.

Clayton pulls guard effortlessly.

Jackson wants to pass the guard but Clayton is keeping the position.
Clayton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Clayton is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clayton swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Clayton can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jackson controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jackson wants to stand but Clayton has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Jackson looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Ethan Clayton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Clayton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
