Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brock Brock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wanderley Cro Cop! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brock avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Brock swats away the attempt to clinch by Cro Cop. Cro Cop tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brock paws at him with a jab and circles away. Cro Cop is looking to clinch. Brock throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Brock shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Brock sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Cro Cop is looking to improve his position but Brock isn't that keen on the idea. Cro Cop tries to hold on but Brock postures up. Cro Cop keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Cro Cop wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Cro Cop is squirming around, avoiding Brock's attempts to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brock cracks Cro Cop with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Brock pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Cro Cop is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Brock trying to control but Cro Cop is having none of it. Cro Cop is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Brock is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Cro Cop is looking to clinch. A head kick misses from Brock. Brock swats away the attempt to clinch by Cro Cop.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cro Cop pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cro Cop looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Brock fails with the takedown. A head kick by Brock misses and Cro Cop counters with a one-two to the body. Cro Cop looks gassed! Brock drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cro Cop is not content to let Brock control the position. Brock tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Cro Cop wants to control but Brock postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brock decides to stand back up. Cro Cop blocks a low kick nicely. Cro Cop doesn't succeed with the takedown and Brock counters with a nice double leg into guard. Brock trying to control but Cro Cop is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brock wants to pass the guard but Cro Cop is keeping the position. Cro Cop is trying to control the position but Brock postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brock wants to control from the top but Cro Cop keeps moving. Brock has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cro Cop is proving hard to escape from. Brock trying to control but Cro Cop is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cro Cop blocks a head kick by Brock.
Brock drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Brock controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Brock trying to control the position from guard on top but Cro Cop is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cro Cop wants to stand and escape but Brock is having none of it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cro Cop is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brock Brock dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Brock tries to clinch up. Brock Brock is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Brock fails in his attempt to clinch. Brock avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cro Cop gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Brock counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Cro Cop won't allow Brock to pass to mount. Brock is looking to take a break and control but Cro Cop is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Brock postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Cro Cop to stand up. A head kick by Brock misses and Cro Cop counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Brock is lucky that one didn't land flush. Cro Cop gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brock controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cro Cop has a closed guard, preventing Brock from standing up. Cro Cop controls Brock momentarily but Brock frees himself. Brock looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Brock wants to control from the top but Cro Cop keeps moving. Cro Cop wants to sweep but no luck. Brock wants to control from the top but Cro Cop keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Cro Cop wants to stand up but Brock is controlling him.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Brock feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Cro Cop has a closed guard, preventing Brock from standing up. Brock scoring with punches to the head and body. Brock Brock overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cro Cop working a defensive guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brock content to stall in guard here. Cro Cop is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brock decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Brock thows a leg kick but Cro Cop checks it and Cro Cop counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Brock pulls guard effortlessly. Brock working for a triangle but Cro Cop defends it easily.
Brock is trying to control the position but Cro Cop postures up. Brock looking for a guillotine here but Cro Cop defends easily.
Cro Cop loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Brock on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Brock tries to get out of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brock looking for a sweep. Not yet Brock, not yet. Brock controls Cro Cop momentarily but Cro Cop frees himself. Brock is looking to stand up but Cro Cop isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cro Cop shoots and misses and Brock counters with a nice double leg into guard. Brock has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Brock pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cro Cop is keeping the position for now. Brock slips nicely into half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Brock connects with a nice short shot to Cro Cop's temple. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Brock controlling the action here. Brock gets the takedown into side control. Cro Cop can't do much from the bottom here. Cro Cop tries to bench press Brock off him but Brock keeps the position. Brock decides to stand back up. Brock steps back and let's Cro Cop get back to his feet. Brock feints and as Cro Cop raises his hands in defense, Brock changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Cro Cop keeping full guard, as Brock tries to pass. Cro Cop keeping moving, preventing Brock from controlling successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cro Cop has a closed guard, preventing Brock from standing up. Brock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cro Cop swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cro Cop looking to control.
Brock trying to control the position from guard on top but Cro Cop is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brock looking to sit in guard and control but Cro Cop gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Brock is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Brock lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Still in half guard, Brock seems content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brock seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cro Cop does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Brock keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Cro Cop is trying to stand back up but Brock is controlling him
Brock wants to take a breather but Cro Cop is having none of it. Brock is thwarting Cro Cop's attempts to control the position. Brock seems to be looking for submissions.
Brock prevents Cro Cop from standing back up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Good work by Cro Cop as he checks the leg kick. Brock throws a push kick but Cro Cop slaps the foot to one side. Brock shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cro Cop is trying to defend but Brock finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cro Cop is trying to control but can't.
Brock wants to control but Cro Cop is keeping him busy. Cro Cop taking some punishment here, with Brock in his half guard. Brock wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cro Cop keeps working. Brock lands with a punch from half guard. Brock wants to take a breather but Cro Cop is having none of it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Brock fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cro Cop sprawls well initially but Brock persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Brock trying to control from half guard but Cro Cop is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brock keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Brock wants to pass to mount but Cro Cop is defending the position. Brock content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Brock is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Brock sitting and controlling from the half guard. Brock lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that's the end of the fight! Brock Brock showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Brock, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
