The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
king pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Maximus tries to close the distance and clinch up but king swats him away and circles back towards the center.
king lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Maximus circles away quickly and effectively.
Maximus wants to clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Maximus is defended easily by king.
Maximus misses with a takedown attempt - king sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Maximus moves in looking to clinch but king pushes him off.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

king changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maximus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

king tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no king has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

king decides to stand up, so the ref orders Maximus to his feet.
