Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Samuel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samuel is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Let The Rain Fall. Jon Samuel will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bob Bailey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jon Samuel! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Samuel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bailey's guard. Samuel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Samuel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Bailey is trying to keep Samuel in close.
Bailey is controlling Samuel's posture. Bailey preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Bailey tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Bailey is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Bailey working for a triangle but Samuel defends it easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Samuel showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bailey.
Samuel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bailey pinned against the cage. Bailey gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Samuel tries for a takedown but Bailey sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bailey scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fighters are battling for position here. Samuel manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Bailey stopping the sweep attempt from Samuel. Bailey keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Samuel's head. Bailey throws a strike but Samuel rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Samuel connects with a couple of short punches. Bailey is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Samuel is controlling him. Samuel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Samuel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bailey is looking to stand up but Samuel isn't so interested in that idea. Samuel throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Samuel throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bailey works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bailey working a defensive guard but Samuel manages to pass into side control anyway.

Bailey tries to escape but Samuel is in control. Bailey is breathing heavily.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Samuel tries for a takedown but Bailey circles away easily and Bailey counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Samuel! Bob Bailey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Samuel. Bailey wants to control the pace but Samuel is squirming around nicely. Bailey misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Samuel is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Samuel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Samuel really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bailey is landing with some decent strikes but Samuel is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Bailey lands a big elbow. Samuel is looking to improve his position but Bailey isn't that keen on the idea. Samuel is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Bailey trying to control but Samuel is having none of it. Samuel is trying desperately to improve position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bob Bailey dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Bailey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Samuel moves away. Samuel misses with a takedown and Bailey counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Bailey thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Samuel keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Bailey wants to control but Samuel is keeping him busy. Samuel tries to get to full guard but Bailey has control of the leg. Samuel moves into full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Bailey has his takedown stuffed and Samuel counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bailey's guard now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Samuel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Samuel drops back looking for a leg! Bailey is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bailey manages to kick Samuel off! Samuel jumps back into Bailey's guard. Samuel passes easily into side control. Nice work. Bailey wants to control but Samuel postures up. Bailey takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Samuel cracks Bailey with an elbow. That is naaassty.
It looks like Bob Bailey has been cut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Samuel tries for a kimura but Bailey is defending well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bailey is looking for a sweep. Samuel working the ground and pound from side control. Bailey tries to improve position but can't. Bailey on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bailey tries to get out of the position. Bailey takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Bailey is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Samuel is working Bailey over with some ground and pound from side control. Jon Samuel has got the better of the ground game so far. Samuel is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bailey knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bailey manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bailey prevents Samuel from improving his position. Bailey is trying to control. Samuel wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Bailey is stalling here. Samuel is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bailey seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Samuel has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Samuel is putting a hurting on Bailey here, landing some big shots from side control. Samuel landing a few strikes.
Bob Bailey's cut is getting worse. Samuel lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
