Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Vass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Annich Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Annich Jackson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Vass! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Annich Jackson! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson throws a series of punches but Vass avoids them all with ease. Jackson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vass pinned against the cage. Vass gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Vass shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth. Vass pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Vass get's back to his feet. Vass scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Vass decides to stand back up. Vass shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Vass stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jackson throws a right hand that Vass ducks under and follows up with a left that Vass also avoids with ease. Some wild striking there from Jackson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vass shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Jackson looks gassed! Vass is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jackson has managed to free his arm - good work. Vass slows the pace down in half guard. Vass is pressing down on Jackson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jackson is holding on for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vass is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jackson defends it well. Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vass. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vass passes the guard and advances to mount! Vass get's back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vass shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vass in particular looking to stall. Vass passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jackson! Vass stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vass darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Vass stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Jackson to get to his feet. Vass closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jackson did well to prevent Vass getting side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vass is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Vass get's back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Vass dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Vass feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Vass drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vass jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Vass decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Jackson throws a series of punches but Vass avoids them all with ease. Jackson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Annich Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vass moves in looking to clinch but Jackson pushes him off. Nick Vass is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vass feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Vass showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Vass's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Jackson is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vass gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Vass fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but Vass persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Vass performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Jackson is refusing to be controlled, as Vass sits in half guard. Vass uses his free foot to push down on Jackson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jackson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vass stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Vass drives through and clinches with Jackson against the cage.
Vass changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jackson fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Vass showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jackson.
Vass decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Vass is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vass wants to take a breather but Jackson is having none of it. Vass controlling the action here. Vass is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jackson can do to turn this around?
The referee stands the fighters back up. Nick Vass just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Jackson misses with a takedown attempt and Vass counters with a single leg into guard. Jackson didn't expect that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jackson being controlled here, momentarily. Vass decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Vass dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Vass darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Vass has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Vass controlling the pace for now. Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vass is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Jackson with a lazy takedown attempt and Vass counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Vass. Vass thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Vass sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vass trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vass is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vass drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Vass seems to have locked his on tight now - Jackson screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Vass, as he picks up the win!
