Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Castro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Peters! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peters shoots in and bounces Castro off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Castro keeping moving, preventing Peters from controlling successfully. Peters gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Peters showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Castro.
Castro misses with a head kick.
Castro tries to clinch there but Peters circles away.
Castro fails with the takedown and Peters counters with a shoot takedown. Castro fights it but they end up in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters gets to his feet - Castro follows without any prompting. Castro tries for a takedown but Peters circles away easily and Peters counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Peters gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Jose Castro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Castro gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Peters counters with a nice double leg into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Castro. That's going to take a lot out of him. Castro is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Peters stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Castro doesn't succeed with the takedown so Peters counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peters wants to control from the top but Castro keeps moving. Castro is working an open guard so Peters takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Castro shoots and misses and Peters counters with a nice double leg into side control. Castro won't be happy with that. Castro struggling a bit here. Peters tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peters working away. Castro gets back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Peters tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Castro keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Castro is trying to stand.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Castro misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Castro is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Peters stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Peters wants it to stay on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Peters dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Castro throws a shot to the body.
Castro tries to score a power double leg takedown but Peters sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Castro somewhat. Castro with a poor takedown and Peters decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Castro's guard. Castro looking to control.
Peters throws and elbow that misses. Castro uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Peters's guard. Nice move by Castro! Castro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peters swivels though and keeps the full guard. Castro has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Peters is pulling down on Castro's head. It's preventing any offense from Castro, at least for the moment. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Castro looking to pass the guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Peters is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Castro trying to keep a closed guard but Peters is proving a slippery customer.
Castro is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Peters is controlling him. Castro working a defensive guard here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Castro misses with a takedown attempt and Peters counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Castro's guard now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Castro. That's going to take a lot out of him. Peters wants to control from the top but Castro keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Castro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Peters manages to get himself to full guard.

Daniel Peters showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Nice sprawl there from Peters as Castro shoots in. Peters has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Castro tries to clinch but Peters is having none of it. Peters gets a takedown into half guard. Peters is stalling here. Castro is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Peters seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Castro has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Castro trying to control the action but Peters is working from the bottom. Castro tries to advance to mount but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Castro wants to lay and pray for a moment but Peters keeps working. Castro fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Castro is looking to take a break and control but Peters is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Castro wants to stand but Peters has his arm trapped. Castro wants to control but Peters is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Castro doesn't succeed with the takedown and Peters counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Peters is just content to waste time from the top position. Castro takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Castro lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Peters! Castro tries to control but Peters wriggling away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daniel Peters has got the better of the ground game so far. Castro is really struggling to control Peters but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Peters tries to hold on but Castro pushes him away. Castro looking to control but Peters is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Jose Castro just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Castro tries to close the distance and clinch up but Peters swats him away and circles back towards the center. Castro tries to clinch up and Peters counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Peters. Jose Castro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Daniel Peters is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Castro is looking for a triangle but Peters pushes his legs off easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Peters comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Peters has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
