Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Zuzinho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sam Burgens!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burgens throws a head kick that misses.
Burgens tries to close the distance and clinch but Zuzinho swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Zuzinho scores with a takedown into Burgens's guard.
Zuzinho with a flurry of punches that miss.
Zuzinho stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burgens swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Zuzinho content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Zuzinho has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Burgens trying to control the position.
Zuzinho wants to control from the top but Burgens keeps moving.

Burgens pulls Zuzinho in close to his closed guard and prevents Zuzinho from doing any damage or advancing position.

Zuzinho not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Zuzinho throws and elbow that misses. Burgens uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Zuzinho's guard. Nice move by Burgens!
Zuzinho knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Burgens on the ground.
Burgens is looking to stand up but Zuzinho won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zuzinho has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Burgens has passed into side control.
Zuzinho struggling a bit here.
Burgens trying to control the action but Zuzinho is working from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Zuzinho tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Burgens stands up.
Zuzinho throws a right and a left that Burgens avoids nicely.
Burgens has his takedown stuffed
and Zuzinho counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Zuzinho breaks the clinch.
Zuzinho shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Zuzinho is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Burgens tries to hold on but Zuzinho pushes him away.
Burgens bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Burgens in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Zuzinho can't keep his opponent in guard - Burgens advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Burgens throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Zuzinho is not content to let Burgens control the position.
Zuzinho kicks off Burgens and gets to his feet.
Zuzinho shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Burgens gets back to full guard.
Zuzinho throws and elbow that misses. Burgens uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Zuzinho's guard. Nice move by Burgens!
Burgens wants to control from the top but Zuzinho keeps moving.
Burgens stays in close to Zuzinho's body and controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fernando Zuzinho dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Burgens shoots in for a double leg but Zuzinho sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Zuzinho changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Burgens tries to avoid it but Zuzinho manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Burgens to the ground. Burgens escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Burgens shoots and misses
and Zuzinho counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Burgens has his takedown stuffed
and Zuzinho counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fernando Zuzinho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Burgens.
Burgens is looking to sinch up a triangle. Zuzinho throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Burgens's body to avoid the submission. Burgens has instead reached around Zuzinho's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Burgens arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
