Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robin Sandstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jake walden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). walden has chosen the way i am as his entrance music. Robin Sandstrom could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to jake walden's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robin Sandstrom! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, jake walden! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! walden gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Sandstrom successfully pulls guard.
walden throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. walden trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sandstrom is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. walden trying to control but Sandstrom is working from the bottom. Sandstrom really is a fat lump. Sandstrom throws his legs up looking for a submission but walden uses it to pass to side control.
Sandstrom tries to escape but walden is in control. Sandstrom is looking to reverse the position. walden lands a nice forearm strike. Sandstrom prevents walden from moving into mount. Sandstrom tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but walden wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sandstrom is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on walden's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. walden is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
walden looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
walden throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. walden trying to control from Sandstrom's half guard. Sandstrom has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sandstrom will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
walden won't allow Sandstrom to sweep him here. Sandstrom wants to stand but walden is controlling the position. Sandstrom is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Horrible takedown by Sandstrom or perhaps it was just good defense by walden which made him look bad. Sandstrom is breathing heavily. Sandstrom misses with a two punch combination.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sandstrom looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A punch combination from walden misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sandstrom tries to clinch up but walden circles away and keeps his distance. walden scores with a head kick.
walden has closed the distance and engaged Sandstrom in a clinch.
walden turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and walden manages to end up in side control. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. The referee asks walden politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. walden prefers to stall for the moment though. Sandstrom can't do much from the bottom here. walden wants to take a breather but Sandstrom manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for walden. walden trying to control the position from guard on top but Sandstrom is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. walden distracts Sandstrom with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. walden trying to control the position from guard on top but Sandstrom is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sandstrom has his feet on walden's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Sandstrom keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Sandstrom gets a clinch. Sandstrom drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sandstrom breaks from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
jake walden dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Sandstrom shoots and misses and walden counters with a nice double leg into guard. walden trying to control the position from guard on top but Sandstrom is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sandstrom will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Sandstrom looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Sandstrom not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sandstrom pulls walden in close to his closed guard and prevents walden from doing any damage or advancing position. walden drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says walden as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Sandstrom screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with walden! Nice submission victory there!
