The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Talib fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Derkins avoids it really well and circles away.
Talib tries to clinch but Derkins is having none of it.
Derkins connects with a high kick.
Derkins throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Talib's head.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Derkins closes the distance and clinches.
Talib tries to pull guard but Derkins won't allow it.
Talib goes for a takedown in the clinch but Derkins prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ali Talib. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Derkins lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Talib jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Derkins walks away with a smile on his face. Talib gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Derkins ducks under a wild hook from Talib.
Talib throws a series of punches but Derkins avoids them all with ease.

Derkins instigates a clinch.
Derkins stalling.

Derkins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Derkins dodges the punch combination from Talib.
Derkins slips a jab and a cross from Talib.
Talib darts in trying to clinch

and Derkins moves into the clinch.

Derkins manages to break the clinch.
Talib misses with a takedown attempt

and Derkins counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Derkins.
Talib wants to break the clinch but can't.
Talib tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Derkins smiles and moves away.
Derkins misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Talib really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Derkins has taken the fight to the clinch.
Talib takes a knee to the side of the body.
Talib is breathing heavily.

Derkins breaks from the clinch.
Derkins thumps Talib with a low kick.
Talib takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Gregory Derkins is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Derkins lands a left and a right that send Talib crashing to the mat, dazed. Derkins thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Talib is rocked!

Derkins moves into the clinch successfully.
Oh Talib is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Derkins breaks the clinch.
