Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Kessinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ja Boxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King Kessinger has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, King Kessinger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ja Boxer!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kessinger keeps the fight on the outside.

Kessinger gets a takedown into half guard.
Kessinger uses his free foot to push down on Boxer's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Boxer.

Kessinger is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Boxer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kessinger paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kessinger shoots for a takedown but Boxer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Boxer fails with the takedown.
Boxer showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kessinger.

and Kessinger counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Boxer!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Boxer is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Kessinger scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Boxer is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Kessinger is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Boxer to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Boxer shrugs it off.
Kessinger is breathing heavily.

Kessinger has hold of Boxer's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Boxer manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Boxer tries to lock up and control but Kessinger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Boxer blocking the ground and pound.
Boxer is wriggling around trying to escape.

Kessinger jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Boxer manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Boxer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kessinger. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boxer is looking to regain half guard here but Kessinger keeps moving and retains side control.

A bit of a lull in the action here.
Boxer is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Boxer is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Boxer shoots and misses

so Kessinger counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
King Kessinger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ja Boxer.

Kessinger thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Kessinger drops back looking for a leg! Boxer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Boxer manages to kick Kessinger off! Kessinger jumps back into Boxer's guard.

Kessinger thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Boxer wants to stand but Kessinger is controlling the position.
Kessinger forces his way into half guard.
Boxer is looking to get back to full guard here but Kessinger has managed to pass to side control instead.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Boxer is trying desperately to improve position.

Boxer takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Kessinger is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Kessinger changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Boxer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You can see the frustration on Boxer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kessinger stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King Kessinger dominated that round.
That's time! Kessinger's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


No luck with that takedown attempt from Boxer.
Boxer fails with a takedown attempt.
King Kessinger is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kessinger throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kessinger doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Boxer counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Boxer throws a head punch that misses.
Boxer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kessinger.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boxer is trying to break free.
Boxer tries to pull guard but Kessinger holds him up against the cage and eventually Boxer drops back down to his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kessinger decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Boxer, up you get!

Boxer is looking for a sweep.

Kessinger stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Boxer fails with a takedown attempt.
Kessinger misses with the combination.
Boxer paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Kessinger scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Kessinger passes to full mount!

King Kessinger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boxer stuffs the takedown attempt from Kessinger. Kessinger gets slowly back to his feet.
Kessinger shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Boxer defends it nicely.
Boxer shoots for a takedown but Kessinger saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kessinger shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Boxer sprawls well. Boxer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kessinger gets slowly back to his feet.

Boxer shoots in looking for a takedown. Kessinger tries to sprawl out of it but Boxer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kessinger manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Boxer slaps away a takedown attempt from Kessinger, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Boxer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Kessinger counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Boxer's guard now.
Kessinger stands and throws Boxer's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boxer wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Kessinger seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Boxer is tapping! Wow, great finish!
