Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kunta Kinte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Siggi Hemerijckx!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hemerijckx moves into the clinch.
Kinte tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hemerijckx smiles and moves away.
Hemerijckx closes the distance and clinches up with Kinte, looking for a takedown. Hemerijckx pushes Kinte against the cage but Kinte circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kinte fails with the takedown
and Hemerijckx counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kinte won't be happy with that.
Hemerijckx tries for a kimura but Kinte is defending well.
Kinte is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hemerijckx tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hemerijckx sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kinte is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Kinte really is a fat lump.
Kinte manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hemerijckx's best efforts.
Hemerijckx is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hemerijckx prevents Kinte from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kinte actively working from the bottom here.
Kinte might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hemerijckx is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kinte makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kinte.
Hemerijckx stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kinte swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hemerijckx looks gassed!
Hemerijckx stands and steps away. Kinte gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Kinte fails with the takedown
and Hemerijckx counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kunta Kinte. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hemerijckx trying to control the action but Kinte is working from the bottom.
Kinte moves into full guard.
Hemerijckx stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kinte swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kinte is looking for a triangle but Hemerijckx pushes his legs off easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kinte manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Kinte trying to control but Hemerijckx is having none of it.

Kinte moves to back control.
Kinte has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Hemerijckx is defending well but eventually Kinte manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Hemerijckx has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
