Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antar Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antar Robinson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wells takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Ryan Wells seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wells decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Robinson is trying to control but can't.
Wells prevents Robinson from improving his position.
Robinson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Wells thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Robinson's head.
Wells has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Robinson wants to control the action here but instead Wells manages to pass to full mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wells takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wells is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Robinson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Robinson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wells. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Robinson holds on for dear life, controlling Wells's posture momentarily.
Wells lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Wells is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Robinson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Robinson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wells is landing with some decent strikes but Robinson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The referee warns Robinson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Wells fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Wells shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Wells was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Robinson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Wells with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Robinson manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Ryan Wells overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Robinson wants to control but Wells is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Wells is looking for a kimura but Robinson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wells to get the leverage.

Wells uses his free foot to push down on Robinson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Robinson.

Wells is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Robinson is forced to tap! Great finish!
