Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamie Hill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Art Wanderlei! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hill looks to score with a jab to the body but Wanderlei is just out of range. Hill slips a jab and a cross from Wanderlei.
Wanderlei tries to close the distance and clinch but Hill swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Wanderlei has taken the fight to the clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Wanderlei.
Wanderlei tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hill just stands there and leans against the cage. Hill is trying to drag Wanderlei to the mat but Wanderlei just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Hill prevents a takedown attempt there.
Wanderlei swings wildly with an uppercut but Hill uses good head movement to avoid it. Hill has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Wanderlei is trying to keep an underhook but Hill manages to get the takedown into half guard. Wanderlei is trying to maintain the position but Hill is very close to passing his half guard. Wanderlei is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Hill is staying active.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hill tries to pass to full mount but Wanderlei defends it. Hill is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wanderlei is just riding it out for now. Hill eventually gives up the hold.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Wanderlei gets the takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wanderlei is trying to get an arm triangle but Hill is defending well. Hill taking punishment in the form of punches.

Hill keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hill is trying to get back to full guard. Wanderlei missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hill misses the shot to the body. Excellent takedown into side control there by Hill. Wanderlei is trying to control Hill's posture but Hill avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hill controls the position. Wanderlei is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hill asserts his dominance and retains side control. You can see the frustration on Wanderlei's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Hill slows the pace down. Hill has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jamie Hill dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Wanderlei with a lazy takedown attempt and Hill counters with a single leg into guard. Wanderlei didn't expect that. Hill sitting in guard here, content to control. Hill passes into half guard. Hill tries to pass to full mount but Wanderlei defends it. Wanderlei has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hill is working away from the top position though. Wanderlei kicks off Hill and gets to his feet. Wanderlei tries to clinch but Hill moves away and Wanderlei takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Art Wanderlei has been cut. Wanderlei clinches but Hill breaks the clinch and Hill counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Wanderlei! This has been an exciting period of action! Hill is looking to work his way around to Wanderlei's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Wanderlei is breathing heavily. Wanderlei wants to get back to his feet. Jamie Hill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hill gets his hands free as Wanderlei looks to control. Hill controls the action. Hill avoiding Wanderlei 's attempts to control his hands. Wanderlei rolls, trying to escape but Hill keeps control of the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wanderlei wants to control his opponent's hands but Hill gets his hands free. Hill is riding his opponent, not letting Wanderlei buck him off. Hill avoiding Wanderlei 's attempts to control his hands. Good control from Hill. Hill's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Wanderlei wants to control his opponent's hands but Hill gets his hands free. Hill throwing wild punches that miss their target. Wanderlei trying to control the position but Hill manages to sink in the hooks.

Despite being in the dominant position, Art Wanderlei just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wanderlei is trying to maintain the position but Hill is very close to passing his half guard. Hill is taking a breather. Wanderlei says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jamie Hill dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Art Wanderlei's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hill looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hill!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Wanderlei wants to clinch and Hill counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Wanderlei wants to clinch but Hill slips to the side and Hill counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Wanderlei looks to clinch and Hill counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hill. Hill connects with a couple of short punches. Wanderlei controls Hill momentarily but Hill frees himself. Hill passes Wanderlei's left leg - he's now in half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Hill tries to pass to full mount but Wanderlei defends it.
