PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Angelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Bacon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Angelo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Bacon!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angelo shoots in but no luck this time.
Bacon swats away the attempt to clinch by Angelo.
Angelo pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Angelo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bacon, pushing him back against the ropes.
Angelo scores with a shot to the side of Bacon's head.
Angelo has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bacon avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Angelo throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bacon blocks it with crossed arms.
Angelo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bacon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Angelo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bacon leaves Angelo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bacon lands with a kick to the temple. Angelo shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Joe Angelo has been cut.

Bacon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Bacon throws 2 knees - Angelo can't escape Bacon's clinch. As Angelo tries to escape again Bacon whips his head left to meet with another knee! That's knocked out Angelo's gum shield and as Angelo falls to the floor, the referee steps in to end the fight!
