Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Psiho Borec (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbie Ruger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Borec might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Carl orff - o fortuna. Robbie Ruger has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Psiho Borec's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Psiho Borec!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Robbie Ruger!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borec tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ruger swivels and escapes.
Borec shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ruger defends it nicely.
Borec ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Borec takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Borec keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
No joy there for Ruger, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ruger throws and low kick but Borec moves out of range easily.
Borec dodges the punch combination from Ruger.
Borec keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ruger throws a head kick but Borec moves out of range.
Borec lands with a hook. Ruger tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Ruger throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Borec.
Borec showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ruger.
Borec shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ruger as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Psiho Borec. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ruger feints and then cracks Borec's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Borec down.

Borec rushes Ruger and presses him up against the cage.

Ruger wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Borec has him pressed against the cage.
Borec is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Ruger tries to break the clinch but Borec is controlling the position.

Borec drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Borec keeps control of Ruger as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Borec jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ruger walks away with a smile on his face. Borec gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ruger misses with a hook. Borec ducked under it nicely.

Borec moves into range and clinches up with Ruger.

Ruger's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ruger is looking to chop away at Borec's legs.
Ruger takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Ruger lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Psiho Borec has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A cross from Ruger lands.
Borec misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Borec uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ruger.
Ruger rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Borec moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ruger throws a right hand that Borec ducks under and follows up with a left that Borec also avoids with ease.
Ruger throws a hook but Borec avoids it easily.
Borec has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ruger finds it's way round the side to connect with Borec's head.
Borec thows a body kick. Ruger tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Ruger looks gassed!
Ruger tries a head kick but it misses.
Ruger lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


Psiho Borec's cut is getting worse.
Robbie Ruger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ruger avoids the head kick by Borec.

Borec feints and as Ruger raises his hands in defense, Borec changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Borec trying to control but Ruger is working from the bottom.
Borec is looking to work some ground and pound but Ruger has wrist control.
Borec tries to free his leg and advance position but Ruger is retaining full guard.
Borec controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Ruger preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Borec pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ruger is keeping the position for now.

Borec is working hard here to advance position.
Borec missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ruger keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Borec shoots in and bounces Ruger off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Borec's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ruger is trying to control the position but Borec postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


No luck for Borec with that takedown attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Borec looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Borec shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ruger but Ruger pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Borec tries to clinch there but Ruger circles away.
Borec avoids the head kick by Ruger.
Ruger fails to land with a series of punches.
Borec tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ruger swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Ruger throws the kick towards the body but Borec avoids it.
Ruger moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Ruger gets caught flat footed, as Borec shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Borec accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Borec closes the distance and clinches.

Borec has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ruger uses from the top position.

Borec looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ruger!

Borec is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ruger is surviving well by controlling Borec's body position as best he can.

Borec goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ruger turns into him and now he's in Borec's guard.
Ruger is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Borec seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Borec is really struggling to control Ruger but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Ruger wants to control from the top but Borec keeps moving.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ruger's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Borec bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ruger's guard.

Borec chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ruger can pounce on him.

Ruger closes the distance and lands a one-two.


Psiho Borec's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Ruger looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ruger lands with a cross.
Robbie Ruger is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Borec shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ruger as he avoids it easily.
Ruger throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Ruger tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Borec was well out of range. Poor timing from Ruger.

Robbie Ruger comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ruger has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
