Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Troy Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinny Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vinny Russo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Troy Barnes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vinny Russo! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Russo lands with a nice combination. Barnes backs away looking to recover. Russo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Barnes tries a head kick but it misses.
Barnes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Russo.
Russo with a body punch. A glancing blow. Barnes swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Russo to counter with a crisp jab. Russo slips a straight right by Barnes. Russo throws a hook to the side of Barnes's head but Barnes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Russo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barnes tries to avoid it but Russo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barnes to the ground. Barnes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A clash of legs there as Russo blocks the low kick. Barnes throws a right and a left that Russo avoids nicely. Barnes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Barnes just misses with a punch to the body.
Barnes lands a front kick. Russo slips under a jab from Barnes. Russo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Barnes. Barnes looks to land a right hand but Russo moved out of range. Barnes looks to score with a jab to the body but Russo is just out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Russo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Barnes. Barnes tries to clinch but fails miserably and Russo counters with a lovely shot to the body. Barnes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Barnes wants it to stay on the feet. Russo throws a hook but Barnes blocks it. Russo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Troy Barnes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Russo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Russo takes a head kick and keeps coming.
It looks like Vinny Russo has been cut. Nice defenses there by Barnes. Barnes misses with a hook to the body
and Russo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Barnes's guard now. Russo wants to control from the top but Barnes keeps moving. Russo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Barnes throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Russo passes easily into side control. Nice work. Russo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Barnes is trying to get back to half guard. Barnes on the wrong end of some ground and pound. This has been an exciting period of action! Russo wants to control but Barnes is keeping him busy. Russo swings around for an armbar but Barnes sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Russo's guard. Russo working for a triangle but Barnes defends it easily.
Russo looks gassed! Russo trying to keep a closed guard but Barnes is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barnes's corner is telling him to maintain position. Barnes sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Russo's guard. Barnes is thwarting Russo's attempts to control the position. Russo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Barnes. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Russo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Barnes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Russo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Russo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barnes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Russo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Barnes defends well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barnes wants to pass the guard but Russo is keeping the position. Barnes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Barnes controls from within his opponent's guard. Barnes trying to control but Russo is working from the bottom. Russo looking for subs off his back but Barnes has passed one foot through into half guard.
Barnes is keen to just control but Russo is a slippery customer. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Vinny Russo will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Vinny Russo's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Russo lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Troy Barnes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big right from Barnes misses. Barnes jabbing away but nothing is landing. Barnes connects with a body shot. Barnes misses with a head kick.
Barnes moves forwards but Russo connects with a nice, crisp jab. Nice cross by Barnes. Russo misses with a double jab
and Barnes counters with a stiff right hand. Barnes wants to clinch and Russo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Russo. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Barnes avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Barnes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Russo is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barnes pulls Russo in close to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barnes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Russo is looking for a sweep. Barnes is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Russo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Barnes is working away from the top position though. Barnes passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Russo! Barnes throws some wild stikes that Russo manages to avoid easily.
Russo is squirming around, avoiding Barnes's attempts to control the action. Russo really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Barnes throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Russo can't escape the position.
Barnes misses with a head shot. Barnes wants to control the pace but Russo is squirming around nicely. Barnes misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Barnes trying to control but Russo is having none of it. Poor strikes thrown by Barnes there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Russo is desperately trying to improve his position but Barnes has a good base and remains in mount.

Barnes has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Russo's face.
Russo tries to reverse the position but Barnes maintains control. Barnes unloads with some shots from mount but Russo bucks and avoids them well.
Russo is looking to improve his position but Barnes isn't that keen on the idea. Russo is breathing heavily. Barnes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Russo is looking to escape. Barnes is really struggling to control Russo but he's trying to hold on to the position. Russo is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Barnes thowing shots but they're missing. Russo keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Barnes jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Russo manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nice defenses there by Russo. A combination from Barnes does no damage. Russo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Russo uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Barnes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Russo swats him away and circles back towards the center. No joy there for Russo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Russo throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Russo clobbers Barnes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Troy Barnes dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Vinny Russo's cut. That's time! Barnes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
A head kick by Barnes misses and Russo counters with a lovely shot to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Russo. Barnes does a little dance to reset his feet. Vinny Russo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Barnes tries to clinch but fails miserably and Russo counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Barnes looks to throw the jab but Russo is out of range. Barnes throws a combination that misses so Russo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Russo stops Barnes from standing up. Russo passes easily into side control. Nice work. Russo working away. Barnes is not content to let Russo control the position. Barnes gets back to half guard. Barnes is refusing to be controlled, as Russo sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Russo landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Russo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barnes keeps working. Barnes trying to hold on to Russo's head to control him but Russo postures up.
Russo wants to free his trapped foot but Barnes is holding on for dear life with his legs. Russo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Russo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Barnes wants to control but Russo is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Barnes scores with a crisp jab that stopped Russo in his tracks. Barnes swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Russo counters with a three punch combo that has Barnes backing up. Barnes nods at Russo to acknowledge the strikes. Some bone on bone action there as Russo checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Troy Barnes is winning the standup battle so far. Russo shoots in but no luck this time. Russo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Barnes! Russo trying to control but he's not successful this time. Barnes tries to hold on but Russo postures up. BOOM! Russo connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Russo is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Barnes is surviving well by controlling Russo's body position as best he can. Barnes is looking to get to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barnes is in a horrible position here. Russo smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Barnes is rocked! Russo breaks from Barnes's wrist control and lands an elbow. Oh Barnes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! BOOM! Russo connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Russo postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Barnes badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Russo around the waist but Russo pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Russo is the winner by TKO! Russo jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
