Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gui Saint (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rudolph Carnage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saint's entrance music is The Haunted - 99. A fine choice. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gui Saint! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rudolph Carnage! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saint feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Carnage looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Saint puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Carnage tries to get to full guard but Saint has control of the leg. Saint content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Carnage looking for submissions off his back. Carnage tries to roll over but Saint keeps him under control. Saint is controlling the pace.
Saint seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carnage for as long as he can get away with. Carnage is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Saint keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Carnage flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Carnage is looking for a sweep. Saint is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Saint passes into side control, despite Carnage's attempt to control the position.
You can see the frustration on Carnage's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Carnage is looking to regain half guard here but Saint keeps moving and retains side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Carnage comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Carnage throws a jab when Saint was well out of range. Saint shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Carnage is trying to defend but Saint finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Carnage wants to get back to full guard. Saint is taking a breather. Carnage says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Saint is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Gui Saint just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. A combination from Carnage does no damage. Carnage misses with a hook. Saint ducked under it nicely. Nice takedown defense from Carnage. No joy for Saint on that attempt. Saint changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carnage tries to avoid it but Saint manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carnage to the ground. Carnage escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Saint decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Saint postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Carnage to stand up. Carnage gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Carnage is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Saint stalling. Carnage moves into full guard.
Saint is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Saint passes into half guard. Carnage works his way to full guard. Good work. Carnage being controlled here, momentarily. Carnage trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Gui Saint clearly takes that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Saint tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carnage sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Saint somewhat. Saint shoots in looking for a takedown. Carnage tries to sprawl out of it but Saint keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carnage manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Carnage defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Saint. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gui Saint. That's going to take a lot out of him. Saint shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Saint closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Saint lands in his opponent's guard. Saint wants to pass the guard but Carnage is keeping the position. Carnage is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Carnage sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Saint defending well though.

And that's the end of the fight! Gui Saint showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Saint, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
