Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Sucre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Spooner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sucre comes into the arena with Capital Punishment blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fernando Sucre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Spooner! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spooner slips a jab and a cross from Sucre.
Sucre looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Spooner lands a nice shot to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Spooner. Sucre does a little dance to reset his feet. Spooner pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sucre is out of range and Spooner settles back down. Spooner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sucre paws at him with a jab and circles away. Spooner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sucre napping and manages to drive through into side control! Spooner tries to score with some ground and pound. Sucre controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sucre tries to get back to half guard but can't. Spooner stands up and beckons Sucre to his feet. Spooner rushes Sucre and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Spooner pulls Sucre into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Spooner holds on and takes a little breather. Sucre won't allow Spooner to get back to his feet. Sucre looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sucre wants to control from the top but Spooner keeps moving. Sucre stopping the sweep attempt from Spooner. Spooner wants to stand up but Sucre is controlling him.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sucre paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Sucre moves forwards but Spooner connects with a nice, crisp jab. Sucre throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A jab from Sucre misses. Spooner slips a jab and a cross from Sucre.

Sucre throws a wild body kick that Spooner sees coming a mile off. Spooner is looking to clinch but Sucre is avoiding it.

Spooner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sucre moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Spooner avoids a punch combination nicely.

Sucre swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Spooner blocks a jab. A telegraphed right hand from Sucre misses the target. Spooner tries to bum rush Sucre with a series of wild strikes but Sucre uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Spooner throws a series of punches but Sucre avoids them all with ease. Sucre throws a nice looking combination but Spooner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Spooner is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sucre. Sucre avoids a punch combination nicely.

Spooner drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Sucre has his foot on Spooner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Spooner works his way back into a safe position though. Sucre keeping moving, preventing Spooner from controlling successfully. Sucre looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Spooner wants to stand but Sucre has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Spooner gets to his feet. Sucre looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Spooner blocks a jab. Spooner on the wrong end of a nice jab. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sucre moves away from the strike by Spooner. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The fight stays on the outside here - Spooner looks like he's thinking about clinching though. No joy there for Sucre, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Spooner is looking to regain half guard here but Sucre keeps moving and retains side control. Sucre tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Spooner wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sucre goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Spooner has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sucre but great work by Spooner. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Fernando Sucre will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
