The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fairtex throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Washington.
It looks like Troy Washington has been cut.
Fairtex just misses with a punch to the body.

Fairtex stuffs the takedown attempt from Washington. Washington gets slowly back to his feet.
Good leg kick by Fairtex there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Washington got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fairtex has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Washington has managed to get both his arms back between Fairtex's legs - danger averted.
Fairtex is looking to stand back up but Washington counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Fairtex.

Fairtex is squirming around, avoiding Washington's attempts to control the action.
Washington goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Fairtex is on top in guard.

Fairtex tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Washington paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Fairtex counters with a big head kick but Washington shrugs it off.

and Fairtex counters with a body kick that stops Washington in his tracks momentarily.
Washington circles away from the clinch attempt.
Washington slips a jab and a cross from Fairtex.
Fairtex swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Washington decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Washington is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Fairtex flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Washington prevents Fairtex from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fairtex has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Washington is working away from the top position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Washington gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Fairtex counters with a head kick.
Washington misses with a takedown attempt - Fairtex sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Chiquito Fairtex has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Troy Washington.
Fairtex misses the shot to the body.
Fairtex throws a sloppy head kick and Washington moves out of range easily.
Fairtex tries a head kick but it misses.
Washington shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fairtex as he jumps to the side.
Fairtex closes the distance and pushes Washington back into the cage.
Washington tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Fairtex tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Fairtex looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Washington jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fairtex walks away with a smile on his face. Washington gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Fairtex throws a sloppy head kick and Washington moves out of range easily.

Fairtex throws a head kick that half lands.
Fairtex lands a big head kick that sends Washington tumbling to the mat! Fairtex takes a step backwards and waves Washington back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Washington is rocked!
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Fairtex! This one is all over!
