Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bro Ham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete McGurdy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bro Ham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pete McGurdy! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGurdy swings for the body but Ham moves out of range.
A punch combination from Ham misses. A cross from Ham lands. Ham connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. McGurdy misses with a wild body shot. McGurdy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. McGurdy tries to clinch up but Ham circles away and keeps his distance. McGurdy staying out of range there. Ham lands a jab-cross combination. McGurdy takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. McGurdy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ham throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ham throws a combination. McGurdy tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Ham works the jab nicely. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ham. Ham lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Ham lands with a hook. McGurdy tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Bro Ham seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ham will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McGurdy tries to clinch but Ham is having none of it. Nice defenses there by McGurdy. Jab by Ham. Ham throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Ham scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. McGurdy doesn't seem bothered though. Ham misses the jab. Ham cracks McGurdy with an open hand slap. Ham stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ham lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ham comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Ham lands a glancing blow to the side of McGurdy's head. McGurdy lands an overhand right. Ham thows a left - swing and a miss! Ham shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. McGurdy is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ham scores with a couple of nice shots. Ham content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. McGurdy tries to roll over but Ham keeps him under control. Ham works his foot free and advances to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ham cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
It looks like Pete McGurdy has been cut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ham raining down shots from the mount! Ham prevents McGurdy from getting the reversal. Ham lands a nice shot to the head. Ham punishing his opponent with strikes.
That has opened up Pete McGurdy's cut even more. Ham landing shots from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McGurdy sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Ham seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McGurdy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Ham is nestled in close to McGurdy, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Ham wants to lay and pray for a moment but McGurdy keeps working. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ham connects with a nice short shot to McGurdy's temple. McGurdy regains full guard. Nicely done. Ham is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Ham working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ham tries to free his leg and advance position but McGurdy is retaining full guard. McGurdy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ham has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McGurdy has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Ham has passed into side control.
McGurdy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ham wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Ham lands a few punches from side control. McGurdy on the wrong end of some ground and pound. McGurdy tries to improve position but can't. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGurdy can do anything to dispel that myth. Ham grinds an elbow into McGurdy's temple. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Ham cracks McGurdy with an elbow. That is naaassty. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McGurdy is trying to improve his position. Ham lands a nice forearm strike. McGurdy tries to get back to half guard but can't. McGurdy takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bro Ham dominated that round. The cut man is working on Pete McGurdy's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ham misses with a hook. Donk. Ham catches McGurdy right on the button with a cross. Ham connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Ham throws a wild combination but nothing lands. McGurdy clinches up against the cage. McGurdy prevents Ham from breaking the clinch. Ham working aggressively here.
Ham gets through McGurdy's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Ham. McGurdy tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ham's elbow. McGurdy gets underhooks to prevent Ham's takedown attempt.
Ham scores with a nice hook to the head. Ham presses McGurdy against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. McGurdy tries to land knees in the clinch but Ham avoids the damage to the body. Ham lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Ham stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. McGurdy lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Ham.

Ham wants to get back to striking at distance but McGurdy won't allow it.
Ham tries to pull guard but McGurdy holds him up against the cage and eventually Ham drops back down to his feet.
Ham blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. A head punch on the inside from Ham fails to land. Ham drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McGurdy gets the underhooks and prevents it.

McGurdy lands a nice elbow. Ham tries to break the clinch but McGurdy is controlling the position. McGurdy blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Ham looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Ham tries to circle away but McGurdy has him pinned against the cage. McGurdy throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Ham blocks it with crossed arms. McGurdy tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ham tries to work over McGurdy's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Ham blocks a body shot from McGurdy. Ham takes a knee to the side of the body. Ham breaks the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - McGurdy looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ham works over McGurdy's head and body with a nice combination. Ham lands with a cross. Ham with a jab. A decent looking cross lands there for Ham. Ham throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ham connects with the punch. Ham cracks McGurdy with an open hand slap. Ham changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McGurdy tries to avoid it but Ham manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McGurdy to the ground. McGurdy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. McGurdy throws a looping overhand right but Ham ducks down to avoid it. McGurdy has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. A jab lands there for Ham.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ham dips down and scores with a jab to the body. McGurdy throws a solid leg kick but Ham takes the impact on his shin and smiles at McGurdy. Ham lands a nice shot that snaps McGurdy's head back.
McGurdy tries to clinch but Ham is having none of it. Ham throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McGurdy fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ham is out of range. The crowd cheers as Ham lands an impressive looking overhand right. McGurdy doesn't seem phased though. A shot to the body from Ham misses and McGurdy counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ham's knee momentarily. Ham looks to land a right hand but McGurdy moved out of range. McGurdy needs to keep his hands up - Ham had a free shot at his head there. Ham lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. McGurdy is looking to clinch. Ham circles away from the clinch attempt.

Bro Ham dominated that second round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

McGurdy tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Ham has advanced to mount. Uh oh. McGurdy is looking to get to half guard. Ham landing strikes from the mount and McGurdy is in trouble! Ham pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Ham lands with some vicious ground and pound - can McGurdy hang on? McGurdy is desperately trying to improve his position but Ham has a good base and remains in mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGurdy is in a horrible position here. Ham smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

McGurdy is bucking up trying to escape but Ham cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Ham unloading with bombs! McGurdy tries to get back to half guard but can't. Ham raining down shots from the mount! Ham lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The cut above Pete McGurdy's eye is starting to cause him problems now. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ham cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Pete McGurdy's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Pete McGurdy's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Bro Ham!
