Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, SHANE CARWIN!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeremy Stulken!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from CARWIN.
CARWIN fails with an attempt to clinch.

Stulken feints and as CARWIN raises his hands in defense, Stulken changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stulken is stalling in the full guard.
CARWIN is striking from the bottom but Stulken uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
CARWIN trying to control but Stulken postures up.
Stulken is taking a breather. CARWIN says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

CARWIN makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Stulken tries for a takedown but CARWIN circles away easily

and CARWIN counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Stulken's guard now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
CARWIN wants to control from the top but Stulken keeps moving.
CARWIN preventing the sweep.
CARWIN could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Stulken tries to strike from the bottom.
Stulken has his hands on CARWIN's head, controlling the position.
CARWIN slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

CARWIN trying to control but Stulken is working from the bottom.
CARWIN would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Stulken looking for a sweep. Not yet Stulken, not yet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
CARWIN gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Stulken counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Stulken.
CARWIN is breathing heavily.
CARWIN tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stulken smiles and moves away.

CARWIN tries to improve position but can't.
You can see the frustration on CARWIN's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Stulken in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Stulken is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. CARWIN knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Stulken shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Stulken was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Stulken shoots in for a takedown but CARWIN shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
SHANE CARWIN is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
CARWIN has his takedown stuffed
enabling Stulken to counter with a crisp jab.


It looks like SHANE CARWIN has been cut.
Stulken misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

so Stulken counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Stulken content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stulken is stalling in the full guard.
Stulken pushes down on CARWIN's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Stulken closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stulken lands in his opponent's guard.

CARWIN has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Stulken has passed into side control.

CARWIN tries to bench press Stulken off him but Stulken keeps the position.
CARWIN looking for a sweep but Stulken has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Stulken looking to control and managing it successfully.

CARWIN is working to get back to half guard.
Stulken takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
CARWIN tries to lock up and control but Stulken gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
CARWIN trying desperately to get to his feet.
Stulken lands a heavy elbow.
Stulken content just to control the position here.

Stulken has hold of CARWIN's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and CARWIN manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeremy Stulken showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on SHANE CARWIN's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Stulken closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming CARWIN to the mat! CARWIN manages to get full guard.

CARWIN is working an open guard so Stulken takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
SHANE CARWIN seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
CARWIN dodges the punch combination from Stulken.
The fight stays on the outside here - CARWIN looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Danga de danga de dang - Stulken scores with a four punch combination!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
CARWIN fails with the takedown

and Stulken counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Stulken takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Jeremy Stulken has got the better of the ground game so far.

Stulken stands up out of the half guard.

Stulken shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches CARWIN napping and manages to drive through into side control!
CARWIN tries to improve position but can't.

CARWIN is trying to buck Stulken off.
CARWIN is looking to regain half guard here but Stulken keeps moving and retains side control.
A lull in the action here as Stulken stalls from top position.
Stulken wants to lay and pray for a moment but CARWIN keeps working.
CARWIN can't do much from the bottom here.

CARWIN takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
CARWIN is trying to work for a sweep but Stulken has mounted him!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
CARWIN tries to hold on but Stulken pushes him away.
CARWIN is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Stulken is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, CARWIN has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Well Stulken has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
