The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Styles tries to clinch there but Barbosa circles away.

Styles tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Barbosa paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Barbosa is trying to force a seperation but Styles has the dominant position.
Styles changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Barbosa fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Styles slaps away a takedown attempt from Barbosa, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Styles could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Styles throws and low kick but Barbosa moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Styles manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Barbosa tries to stand but can't do so whilst Styles controls his leg.

Styles is looking to improve his position.
Barbosa is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Styles sees it coming and defends easily.
Barbosa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Styles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Styles makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Styles.

Styles is looking for a triangle but Barbosa pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barbosa wants to control from the top but Styles keeps moving.

Styles has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Barbosa decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Styles, up you get!
Styles darts in trying to clinch
and Barbosa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Styles is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Styles in particular looking to stall.
Styles is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Barbosa doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Styles.
Styles is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Styles uses his free foot to push down on Barbosa's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Barbosa.
Barbosa is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Barbosa is trying desperately to improve position.
Styles is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Styles!
