Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen Hydraulix 13.5 - D.A.V.E. the Drummer & Alex Calver as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Norris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Gracie! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Norris. Norris obviously looking to wear him down.
Norris sizes up Gracie with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
It looks like Aaron Gracie has been cut. Norris misses with a straight right. Gracie is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Norris's half guard. Gracie is trying to control. Norris wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Gracie is taking a breather. Norris says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Norris doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie. Gracie wants to take a breather but Norris is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Norris is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gracie wants to pass to mount but Norris is defending the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Norris doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie. Norris has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gracie is working away from the top position though.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gracie goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Norris is on top in guard.
Norris lands a couple of decent looking shots. Norris pushing down on Gracie's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Gracie regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Norris. Gracie manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Gracie swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Norris is now in Gracie's guard. A big mistake from Gracie there, giving up the dominant position!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gracie looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Norris pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now. Norris trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Norris loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Norris is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Norris has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Norris wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. Gracie working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Norris. Norris postures up and lands a big shot to Gracie's brow. Gracie is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Norris manages to get himself to full guard.
Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Norris is retaining full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Norris dominated that round. The cut man is working on Aaron Gracie's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Gracie throws a shot to the body.
Gracie wants to clinch up but Norris keeps it at a distance. Norris with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gracie to score with a decent uppercut. Norris misses with a takedown and Gracie counters with a single leg into guard. Norris didn't expect that. Norris not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie advances position into side control! Gracie trying to control the action but Norris is working from the bottom. Gracie goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Norris rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gracie's guard! Nice work there by Norris! Gracie avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gracie looking for a sweep. Not yet Gracie, not yet. Gracie is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gracie pulls Norris in to control the position. Gracie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Norris missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Norris looking to sit in guard and control but Gracie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Gracie wants to pass the guard but Norris is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Norris connects with a solid leg kick. Gracie checks a leg kick nicely. Gracie tries for a takedown but Norris circles away easily and Norris counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Gracie is breathing heavily. Norris has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Gracie defend it? Norris steps over the head and cranks it - Gracie is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Norris!
