Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Mitchel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Will Kings!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchel lands a jab to Kings's midsection.
Mitchel misses with a wild combination.
Mitchel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kings circles away quickly and effectively.
Mitchel misses with a jab, cross combination.
Luke Mitchel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kings shoots in looking for a takedown. Mitchel tries to sprawl out of it but Kings keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mitchel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kings shoots in but Mitchel avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mitchel connects with a single shot there.
Kings tries to clinch but Mitchel moves out of range.
Mitchel has Kings up against the cage in a clinch.
Mitchel lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Mitchel lands a body shot in the clinch.
Kings has Mitchel pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mitchel manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Luke Mitchel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Will Kings.
Mitchel is pressed up against the cage. Kings has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mitchel down to the mat. Mitchel avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Kings looks gassed!
Kings takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mitchel lands a left and a right that send Kings crashing to the mat, dazed. Mitchel thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Will Kings has been cut.
Mitchel lands a jab.
Kings is rocked!
Kings tries to get into range but Mitchel steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Kings! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Mitchel scores the big KO victory!
