Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Levi Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Royce Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Diaz looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Diaz tries to clinch up.
Diaz gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Diaz softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes.
Diaz throws a punch but it's blocked by Gracie.
A short uppercut from Diaz.
Gracie drags the fight down to the ground.
Diaz lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Diaz wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.
Diaz throwing strikes but missing.
Diaz trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Diaz throws and elbow that misses. Gracie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Diaz's guard. Nice move by Gracie!
Gracie wants to stand but Diaz has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Diaz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Diaz has his hands on Gracie's head, controlling the position.
Diaz tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gracie wants to get up but he can't break Diaz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gracie looks gassed!
Diaz is looking to stand up but Gracie isn't so interested in that idea.
Gracie is fighting to break Diaz's control of his arms but Diaz is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Gracie has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Diaz to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Gracie is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Diaz pulls down on the head and he's put Gracie to sleep! This one is all over!
