Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kent Russell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kent Russell! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Powers scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Powers lands with a kick to the temple. Russell shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Russell misses with a series of wild punches.
Kenny Powers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Russell swinging wildly here.
Powers could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Powers misses with a low kick.

and Russell connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Powers lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powers moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Powers has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Russell finds it's way round the side to connect with Powers's head. Russell has closed the distance and engaged Powers in a clinch.
Russell is trying to break the clinch but Powers is controlling him. A nice glancing elbow lands by Powers. Russell prevents Powers from breaking the clinch. Russell's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Powers swings wildly with an uppercut but Russell uses good head movement to avoid it. Powers stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Still in the clinch, Russell scores with a nice short uppercut. Russell takes an elbow to the temple. A head punch blocked on the inside by Russell. Powers taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Powers lands a right hand that snaps the head of Russell backwards. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Powers working some nice short punches in the clinch. Powers using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Russell has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
