Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leland Tucker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Johnson. No joy for Tucker on that attempt. Tucker misses with a few strikes there.

Johnson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tucker. Johnson lands with a hook. Tucker tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Johnson shoots in for a double leg but Tucker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Tucker stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet. Tucker dodges the punch combination from Johnson.
Good standup being displayed there by Johnson as he connects with a hook. Johnson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The strikes coming from Johnson are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tucker can't do much from the bottom here. Tucker taking a bit of punishment here - Johnson scoring with strikes. Johnson is trying to get an arm triangle but Tucker is defending well. Johnson tries for a kimura but Tucker is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Tucker is looking for a sweep. Johnson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Johnson misses with the ground and pound. Johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Johnson looks gassed! Tucker is looking to regain half guard here but Johnson keeps moving and retains side control. Tucker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground. Tucker parries the strikes from Johnson easily there. Johnson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Tucker to escape.
Tucker is pushing Johnson's head away, looking to escape. Johnson manages to hold on to the position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Tucker tries to improve position but can't.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Tucker shows good takedown defense. Leland Tucker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brad Johnson. Johnson misses with a combination
and Tucker counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Tucker. Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A punch combination from Johnson misses. Tucker is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Tucker bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Tucker shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Tucker lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Johnson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Tucker counters with a big head kick but Johnson shrugs it off. Johnson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Johnson throws the kick towards the body but Tucker avoids it. Tucker avoids the head kick by Johnson.
Tucker connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Tucker tries to clinch up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Johnson lands with a slapping head kick. Tucker fails in his attempt to clinch. Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Tucker decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Johnson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Johnson is looking for a triangle but Tucker pushes his legs off easily.
Tucker slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Tucker working the ground and pound. Johnson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Tucker is keen to just control but Johnson is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tucker pulls his head out easily. Johnson is not content to let Tucker control the position. Johnson gets back to full guard.
Tucker throwing strikes from guard but Johnson blocks nicely. Tucker wanted to stand there but Johnson had control of the position. Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tucker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tucker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brad Johnson dominated that round. That's time! Tucker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Tucker feints and as Johnson raises his hands in defense, Tucker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Johnson is looking for a triangle but Tucker pushes his legs off easily.
Johnson has his foot on Tucker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tucker works his way back into a safe position though. Johnson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tucker makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Tucker is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Tucker wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. Tucker has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johnson is proving hard to escape from. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tucker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Tucker is posturing up here but Johnson has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Tucker tries to roll out but it's too tight and Tucker has to tap! Slick submission there by Johnson!
